This is the covenant

The famous chapter: Jeremiah 31:31. Behold, the days are coming when Yahuah will cut a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. Other words with all the clans of Jacob.

Jeremiah 31:32-34 not according to the covenant that I cut with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt (which covenant of Mine they broke, although I was to be a husband to them, says Yahuah). But this shall be the covenant that I will cut with the house of Israel: After those days, declares Yahuah, I will put My Torah in their inward parts, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their Elohim, and they shall be My people. And they shall no longer each man teach his neighbor, and each man his brother, saying, Know Yahuah. For they shall all know Me, from the least of them even to the greatest of them, declares Yahuah. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sins no more.

A promise of the New Covenant and is repeated below in Hebrews 8:8-12

For finding fault with them, He says, “See, the days are coming,” says Yahuah, “when I shall conclude with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah renewed covenant, not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them,” says Yahuah. “Because this is the covenant that I shall make with the house of Israel after those days, says Yahuah, giving My laws in their mind, and I shall write them on their hearts, and I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people. “And they shall by no means teach each one his neighbour, and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know Yahuah,’ because they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. “Because I shall forgive their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawlessnesses I shall no longer remember.”

If the first covenant was faultless, then there would not be necessary for a second one (Hebrews 8:7), but we all know the first one was broken.

The Messiah is the Mediator of this new covenant (Hebrews 8:6, Hebrews 9:15 and Hebrews 12:24). Today the Mediator is through the Spirit of Yahuah which the Messiah said would come when He left.

The instructions given by Yahuah at Mount Sinai stay the same forever, it is the first covenant that could not be kept by the people but the second covenant will be able to be kept as it pressed into your heart and mind by Yahuah and not by man.

Jeremiah 31:34  tells us man will no longer teach each other but we will know Him because it is written in our hearts by Yahuah.

This is made possible through Yahusha the Messiah who is the Melchizedek and now seated at the right hand of Yahuah the Father.

At that time

At what time?

A time in the future! A certain time! A time that is decided or planned by Yahuah!

Yahuah declares, at that time, says Yahuah, I will be the Elohim of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people – Jeremiah 31:1.

Jeremiah chapter 31 is a beautiful promise of a restoration of the people that broke the first covenant and are scattered all over the world. It is a chapter showing Yahuah’s mercy and His love.

In that time, it is those who escaped the sword and found favour in the wilderness who will find rest – Jeremiah 31:2.

In this chapter the following is mention for the scattered people.

1)      A planned time in the future (verse 1).

2)      A remnant will find rest after all the troubles (verse 2).

3)      Yahuah’s love (verse 3-5).

4)      Israel will be re-built by Yahuah (verse 4-5).

5)      A certain time the watchmen shall call out (verse 6).

6)      Yahuah will save a remnant of Jacob (Israel) (verse 7).

7)      The scattered people shall come back from all over (verse 8).

8)      The redemption and return of Ephraim (northern tribes of Israel) (verse 9).

9)      Yahuah shall shepherd His flock (verse 10).

10)   Yahuah shall rams on Jacob (Israel and Judah) (verse 11).

11)   Happiness forever once the remnant has returned (verse 12-13).

12)   Yahuah’s love seen again (verse 13).

13)   Everyone shall see Yahuah’s goodness (verse 14).

14)   There will be a reward for the work after return (verse 16-17).

15)   Yahuah heard the moaning of Ephraim (verse 18).

16)   Ephraim repents and turns back (verse 19).

17)   Ephraim recognizes their sin and is ashamed (verse 19).

18)   Ephraim is a precious son and Yahuah has compassion on him (verse 20).

19)   The remnant of Israel will be the strength of the kingdom (verse 21-22).

20)   Israel will bless Yahuah after return (verse 23).

21)   All Judah shall dwell together again (verse 24).

22)   Yahuah shall satisfy the weary and grieved soul (verse 25).

23)   Both Israel and Judah plus the animals shall grow to full strength (verse 27).

24)   Yahuah punished Israel (both houses) but He will restore them again (verse 27-28).

25)   Israel will no longer blame their forefathers for the sins they did (verse 29-30).

26)   A new covenant will be made with Israel and Judah (verse 31).

27)   The new covenant shall be different from the old covenant (verse 32).

28)   The new covenant shall be in their inward parts, written on their heart (verse 33).

29)   Man will no longer teach about Yahuah as He will forgive and we will know Him (verse 34).

30)   Yahuah is the creator and He is declaring this new covenant through Jeremiah (verse 35).

31)   If the laws are removed and the heavens can be measured and the foundations of earth can be searched out then the seed of Israel will no longer be required to be a nation (verse 36-37).

32)   Measuring line is connected with the restored Jerusalem (verse 38-39).

33)   All parts of the land shall be restored and be set-apart again forever (verse 40).

Jeremiah was given this revelation in a dream by Yahuah (Jeremiah 31:26).

Looking through the list above, which ones would you say are fulfilled, which ones are presently been fulfilled and what ones still needs to be fulfilled in the near future?

The letter and book from Jeremiah

Jeremiah wrote a letter to the people who were in exile and also wrote a book to Jacob’s decedents (Jeremiah chapter 29 and 30).

The letter was addressed to the following people in Babylon; elders, priests, prophets, to king Jeconiah, the queen mother, eunuchs, rulers, craftsmen and smiths – Jeremiah 29:1-2.

The letter was sent through Elasah (Jeremiah 29:3).

The letter said the following to the exiles.

Jeremiah 29:4-7 Build houses and live, and plant gardens, and eat their fruit.Take wives, and father sons and daughters. And take wives for your sons; and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters, and multiply there, and do not become few. And seek the peace of the city, there where I have caused you to be exiled. And pray to Yahuah for it; for in its peace, you shall have peace.

Reason for this statement was because they would be exiled for a long time. As I asked before in my previous message, was it to 70 years or is it 70 years x 1000. I believe the answer is found in Jeremiah chapter 30.

Next in the letter it warns the people not to listen to the prophets/priests in their midst as they are speaking falsely.

Jeremiah 29:8-9 For so says Yahuah of Hosts, the Elohim of Israel: Do not let your prophets and your divining ones in your midst deceive you. And do not listen to your dreams which you dream. For they prophesy falsely to you in My name. I have not sent them, says Yahuah.

I have heard many say the 70 years is over and some say it’s not over but hear what Yahuah says in the next verse 10.

For so says Yahuah, when according to My mouth seventy years have been fulfilled for Babylon, I will visit you and confirm My good Word to you, to bring you back to this place.

Yahuah’s time is different to what we know time, so we need to relook at what people say about His time. You see verse 11 says Yahuah has peace for us in mind, not evil. The plan is a bright future. The question I ask is if 70 years are over then where is the peace and the great future, it’s not happened.

In Jeremiah 29:16-19 it is addressed to the people of Judah who did not go into exile as what Yahuah said must happen. Punishment will come on them for not listening.

The next part is again addressed to those in exile of some people in their midst who were prophesying lies – Jeremiah 29:20-21.

Because the people listened to the false prophesy a curse would come on them- Jeremiah 29:22-23.

Jeremiah 29:28 says the exile will be long, therefore build houses, gardens and live.

Yahuah instructed Jeremiah to write a book on all the words He has spoken through him (Jeremiah) to the people – Jeremiah 30:2.

What is interesting of chapter 30 is Jeremiah is speaking to both tribes of Israel and Judah, known as Jacob (children of Jacob = 12 tribes of Jacob (Israel)).

In Jeremiah 30:3 Yahuah says the days will come when He will turn the captivity for both Israel and Judah and cause them to return to the land to possess it.

Further on, Yahuah addresses both Israel and Judah about the time of Jacob’s trouble and how both groups will be saved from it.

Jeremiah 30:4-7 And these are the Words that Yahuah spoke concerning Israel and concerning Judah: For so says Yahuah, we have heard a sound of trembling, of dread, and not of peace. Ask now and see whether a male is giving birth? Why do I see every man with his hands on his loins, like a woman giving birth, and all faces are turned to paleness? Alas! For that day is great, for none is like it. And it is a time of Jacob's trouble, but he will be saved out of it.

This is related to the latter days or end time days.

In Jeremiah 30:8-9 Yahuah speaks of the yoke been broken off Israel and Judah’s neck and never to be enslaved again.

Has this happened? No!

Israel and Judah are depended on foreign powers for security. It tells me they are still in captivity.

Jeremiah 30:10  says, O My servant Jacob (all 12 tribes of Israel), do not fear for I Yahuah will save you from afar, and your seed from the land of captivity. Jacob will return and no trouble will come upon them again.

Jeremiah 30:11-22, speaking of Israel and Judah’s many sins, the punishments and how they will return with health and healing, to be His people again.

Did adding chapter 30 to 29 give an answer to the 70 years? If I look today, I do not see this peace and a bright future therefore must question if Judah had returned from Babylon. Revelation speaks about end time destruction of Babylon therefore Babylon was not destroyed after 70 years. Chapter 30 speaks about Israel and Judah in captivity until after Jacob’ trouble. Jacob’s trouble is for all the decedents of Jacob (Israel). This period has not happened yet.

This is something to pray about.
