Prophesy against the shepherds

Yahuah warns the shepherds (priests/teachers) who receive knowledge but then keep the word to enrich themselves.

Yahuah instructs Ezekiel to prophesy about these shepherds and how He will send His own Shepherd to teach, heal and save His people.

Ezekiel 34:2 “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Yisrael, prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus said the Master Yahuah to the shepherds, “Woe to the shepherds of Yisrael who have been feeding themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flock?

Jeremiah also speaks about the shepherds.

Jeremiah 2:8 “The priests did not say, ‘Where is Yahuah?’ And those who handle the Torah did not know Me, and the shepherds transgressed against Me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after matters that did not profit.

Jeremiah 10:21 For the shepherds have become brutish, and they have not sought Yahuah. Therefore they did not understand, and all their flock scattered.”

Jeremiah 12:10 “Many shepherds have destroyed My vineyard, they have trodden My portion under foot, they have made My pleasant portion become a deserted wilderness.

Many so-called shepherds have caused many people to follow man-made religion, making them walk on the path of destruction. This is confirmed by Jeremiah in verse below.

Jeremiah 50:6-7 “My people have been wandering sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray, turning them away on the mountains. They have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place. “All who found them have devoured them. And their adversaries have said, ‘Weare not guilty, because they have sinned against Yahuah, the Home of righteousness, and the Expectation of their fathers: Yahuah.’

Is this not what’s happening in our time? Jeremiah was correct when prophesying about teachers leading people astray with false doctrine. Timothy speaks of the time when the teachers will teach lies and false doctrine.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For there shall be a time when they shall not bear sound teaching, but according to their own desires, they shall heap up for themselves teachers tickling the ear, and they shall indeed turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to myths.

Most teachers today preach a gospel that makes a person feel good, tickling the ear, example once saved, always saved and the commands are no longer required to follow.

2 Peter 2:1-3 But there also came to be false prophets among the people, as also among you there shall be false teachers, who shall secretly bring in destructive heresies, and deny the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction on themselves. And many shall follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of, and in greed, with fabricated words, they shall use you for gain. From of old their judgment does not linger, and their destruction does not slumber.

The above says everything: we just need to look around and see the destruction caused by false teachers.

Below Ezekiel speaks further of the prophesy against the shepherds in Ezekiel 34:3-6.

Verse 3 “You eat the fat and you put on the wool. You slaughter the fatlings – you do not feed the flock.

Verse 4 “You have not strengthened the weak, nor have you healed the sick, nor bound up the broken, nor brought back the straying, nor sought what was lost; but you have ruled them with might and harshness.

Verse 5 “And they were scattered because there was no shepherd. And they became food for all the beasts of the field when they were scattered.

Verse 6 “My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and on every high hill. And My sheep were scattered over all the face of the earth, and no one was seeking or searching for them.”

In Ezekiel 34:7-16, Yahuah says He is against the shepherds not attending to the flock. Yahuah, then will seek the flock Himself, to bring them to the truth and to teach them the word.

Verse 7-9 ‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of Yahuah: “As I live,” declares the Master Yahuah, “because My flock became a prey, and My flock became food for every beast of the field, from not having a shepherd, and My shepherds did not search for My flock, but the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock,” therefore, O shepherds, hear the word of Yahuah!

Verse 10 ‘Thus said the Master Yahuah, “See, I am against the shepherds, and shall require My flock at their hand, and shall make them cease feeding the sheep, and the shepherds shall feed themselves no more. And I shall deliver My flock from their mouths, and they shall no longer be food for them.”

Verse 11-16  ‘For thus said the Master Yahuah, “See, I Myself shall search for My sheep and seek them out. “As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so I shall seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered in a day of cloud and thick darkness. “And I shall bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the lands, and shall bring them to their own land. And I shall feed them on the mountains of Yisrael, in the valleys, and in all the dwellings of the land. “In good pasture I shall feed them, and their fold shall be on the high mountains of Yisrael. They shall lie there in a good fold and feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Yisrael. “I shall feed My flock and make them lie down,” declares the Master Yahuah. “I shall seek out the lost and bring back the strayed. And I shall bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick, but the fat and the strong I shall destroy. I shall feed them with right-ruling.”

Teachers today must spread the good news and teach the true word. Do not be deceived by man and his doctrine but teach only from Yah. The word is not complicated and not heavy as Yah made it easy to understand and to follow.

Watchman must warn

As a believer, we have a responsibility to show out sin for our fellow believer who are sinning.

Ezekiel 33:2-5 “Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and you shall say to them, ‘When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land shall take a man from their borders and shall make him their watchman, and he sees the sword coming upon the land, and shall blow the ram’s horn and shall warn the people, then whoever shall hear the sound of the ram’s horn and shall not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood is on his own head. ‘He heard the sound of the ram’s horn, but he did not take warning, his blood is on himself. But he who takes warning shall deliver his being.

Ezekiel 33:7 And you, son of man, I gave you as a watchman to the house of Israel. And you shall hear the Word from My mouth and warn them from Me.

Yah choose Ezekiel to be a watchman, to warn the house of Yisrael.

Ezekiel 33:6 ‘But if the watchman sees the sword coming and shall not blow the ram’s horn, and the people shall not be warned, and the sword comes and takes any being from among them, he is taken away in his crookedness, and his blood I require at the watchman’s hand.’

For the watchmen that do not take responsibility to warn those of their wrong doings will be responsible for his own life.

Yah warns the watchman in Ezekiel 33:8 that they will be punished for not warning the sinner of his wrong doings.

Those sinners who hear the voice of the watchman will repent and return to Yah’s ways but those who hear but do not do shall be judged.

It’s the believer’s duty to warn the sinner and if the sinner does not hear, the believer has tried and will be rewarded with life – Ezekiel 33:9.

Matthew 18:15-17 “And if your brother sins against you, go and reprove him, between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. “But if he does not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word might be established.’ “And if he refuses to hear them, say it to the assembly. And if he refuses even to hear the assembly, let him be to you like a gentile and a tax collector.

Leviticus 5:1 ‘And when a being sins in that he has heard the voice of swearing, and is a witness, or has seen, or has known, but does not reveal it, he shall bear his crookedness.

Ezekiel 33:15-16 if the wrong restores the pledge, gives back what he has stolen, and walks in the laws of life without doing crookedness, he shall certainly live; he shall not die. “None of his sins which he has committed shall be remembered against him – he has done right and righteousness; he shall certainly live.

This is the gospel; repent of your sins, your sins will be forgiven and you will live.

Be a watchman for Yah.

His words will come to pass

And the hand of Yahuah came upon me the evening before the man came who had escaped -Ezekiel 33:22.

Ezekiel 33:24 “Son of man, they who inhabit those ruins in the land of Yisra’el are saying, ‘Abraham was only one, and he inherited the land. But we are many, let the land begiven to us as a possession.’

These were those who survived the siege and remained in Jerusalem. They were boasting “If Abraham, who was only one person, was promised the land of Israel, how much more than is the promise for them who were many”.

Ezekiel goes on to list their sins to them in verses 25-26.

Ezekiel 33:25-26 “Therefore say to them, ‘Thus said the Master Yahuah, “You eat meat with blood, and you lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood. Should you then possess the land? “You depend on your sword, and you commit abominations, and each of you defiles his neighbour’s wife. Should you then possess the land?” ’

But Yahuah says those in the ruins shall fall by the sword? And I will give the one who is on the face of the field to the beasts to be eaten, and those in the forts and in the caves shall die by the plague. (Ezekiel 33:27)

Nobody can hide from Yahuah’s wroth. Because of Israel’s abominations the land is made desolate (desert) and a waste –Read Ezekiel 33:28-29.

Ezekiel 33:30 “As for you, son of man, the children of your people are talking about you beside the walls and in the doors of the houses. And they speak to each other, each saying to his brother, ‘Please come and hear what the word is that comes from Yahuah.’

People are saying, come let us go hear the word of Yah from the prophet speaking about what is to come to pass.

Ezekiel 33:31 “And they come to you as people do, and they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not do them. For with their mouth, they show much love – their hearts pursue their greedy gain.

Isaiah 29:13 And Yahuah says, “Because this people has drawn near with its mouth, and with its lips they have esteemed Me, and it has kept its heart far from Me, and their fear of Me has become a command of men that is taught!

People listen to Yah’s word but they do not do them. With their lips they speak love but their hearts are full of greed.

Ezekiel 33:32 “And see, you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice and playing well on an instrument. And they hear your words, but they do not do them.

True priests of Yah speak the truth which are music to the people’s ears (hear his words) but they do not do them. People study the Torah cycle year through but many don’t do anything to change their live-in accordance to the Torah.

Ezekiel 33:33 “And when it comes – see, it shall come – then they shall know that a prophet has been in their midst.”

Here is the warning for those who hear but don’t do: when the prophets words come to pass, it will be too late to start doing what Yah’s word said would come.

You will know the prophet spoke truth.

Jeremiah 28:9 “The prophet who prophesies of peace– when the word of the prophet comes to pass, that prophet is known as one whom Yahuah has truly sent.”

The word of Yahuah will come to pass exactly as scripture states by His prophets in Yahuah's timing.
