Behavior of wives and husbands

A wife’s pure behavior can win over an unbelieving husband by being submissive without a word been said. By the husband observing her believing ways can turn him to the faith.

Some woman may say been submissive is not for the modern times as things has changed. It is true things have changed but it’s the world that changed not the Word of Yah. Been submissive does not mean a slave to a husband but it is the role Yahauh gave the wife within the family.

A wife’s blameless behavior is seen by Yahauh – 1 Peter 3:1-2.

1 Peter 3:3-4 And adorn not yourselves with the external ornaments of curls of the hair, or the wearing of golden trinkets, or of costly garments but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of the meek and quiet spirit, which is of great value before Elohim.

Wives should not try and make themselves more beautiful or attractive then what they are as the worldly system puts pressure on woman to make them be sexy. Instead, wives should only impress their own husbands and not what the worldly flesh wants them to be seen.

What is important for the wife is an inwardly beauty and not the lusts of the world.

No different for the husband as he must show respect and love for his wife.

1 Peter 3:7 And you husbands, likewise, dwell with your wives according to knowledge, and hold them in honor, as the weaker vessels; because they also will inherit with you the gift of eternal life: And let not your prayers behindered.

A husband’s strength and experience on her behalf, and thus honoring her by becoming her protector and support.

The wife been the weaker vessel - Being more delicately, and consequently more slenderly, constructed. Roughness and strength go hand in hand; so likewise do beauty and frailty. The woman has what the man wants - beauty and delicacy. The man has what the woman wants - courage and strength.

The one is as good in its place as the other: and by these things Yahauh has made an equality between the man and the woman, so that there is properly very little superiority on either side.

Follow in His steps

But if you suffer for doing good and you endure, this finds favour with Elohim – 1 Peter 2:20.

1 Peter 2:21-24 For to this you were called, because Messiah also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps, “who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth,” who, being reviled, did not revile in return; suffering, did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His body on the timber, so that we, having died to sins, might live unto righteousness – by whose stripes you were healed.

1 John 2:6 The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of Elohim.

Isaiah 53:9 And He was appointed a grave with the wrong, and with the rich at His death, because He had done no violence, nor was deceit in His mouth.

Romans 6:2 Let it not be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?

Having died to sin, live now unto righteousness!

1 Peter 4:1-2 Therefore, since Messiah suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so that he no longer lives the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but according to the desire of Elohim.

1 Peter 2:25 For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your lives – Read Isaiah 53:4-6.

Yahusha Ha’Mashiach, the son of the Most High Elohim has done this all for us.

We as believers need to follow in His footsteps.

Good actions

Beloved, I exhort you as pilgrims and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul; and let your conduct be good before all men; so that they who speak evil words against you, may see your good works (actions), and may glorify Elohim in the day of trial – 1 Peter 2:11-12.

Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, so that they see your good works (actions) and praise your Father who is in the heavens.

Titus 2:7-8 Show yourself to them an example of good works (actions) in all matters. In teaching show uncorruptness, seriousness, soundness of speech beyond reproach, in order that the opponent is put to shame, having no evil word to say about you.

Matthew 16:27 “For the Son of Adam is going to come in the esteem of His Father with His messengers, and then He shall reward each according to his works (actions).

Psalm 62:12 And kindness is Yours, O Yahuah; For You reward each one according to his work (action).

Revelation 22:12 “And see, I am coming speedily, and My reward is with Me, to give to each according to his work (action).

Do good actions that those on close examination, may see that you are actuated by upright principles, and ultimately be disposed to do you justice.

We are saved by favour, through belief, unto good works – to bear the fruits worthy of repentance, the fruit of righteousness!

To bear fruits, action (work) is required. That action must be seen as good (good fruit) in the eyes of Yahuah.

Doing works of your belief (faith) is required. How do you proof that you follow Yahuah = by doing His will (works, action = hear and do).

New born

The new born are those who repented, are forgiven, and now walking in His ways through the Ruach given by Yahuah.

Having put aside, then, all evil, and all deceit, and hypocrisies, and envyings, and all evil words, as new born babes,  desire the unadulterated milk of the Word, in order that you grow by it, if indeed you have tasted that the Master is good – 1 Peter 2:1-3.

Believers are the ones mentioned in above verse who grow in the Word because they believe Yahuah is the Creator of the heavens and the earth as said by David in Psalm 34:8.

Psalm 34:8 Oh, taste and see that Yahuah is good; Blessed is the man that takes refuge in Him!

1 Peter 2:5 you also, as living stones, are being built up, a spiritual house, a set-apart priesthood, to offer up spiritual slaughter offerings acceptable to Elohim through Yahusha Ha’Mashiach.

By growing in the Word daily, we become a spiritual house (church), a nation of priests giving our offerings to Yahuah through the Messiah.

In 1 Peter 2:8 we see some stumble because they are disobedient to the Word.

Many will hear the Word and grow in it, but later on turn away and become disobedient. It is written in John 3:36 “He who believes in the Son possesses everlasting life, but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of Elohim remains on him.”

1 Peter 2:9-10 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a set-apart nation, a people for a possession (peculiar people), that you should proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light, which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of Elohim; …

Yahuah took Israel out of Egypt so they could become a nation of priests (Exodus 19:5, 6). This did not happen due to the continual rebellion of the people, so in the renewed Covenant clearly the intention, as it originally was, is to make a kingdom of priests according to the order of Melchizedek (Hebrews 7:11, Hebrews 3:1).

This message was written to the Israelites living abroad and Peter uses a direct quote from Hosea 1:6-10, to show through Messiah these dispersed Israelites are able to be rejoined to the covenant of Yahuah, even in their diaspora.

You are called out of darkness (wickedness) to become His chosen people, walking as priests and being obedient to His Word – the new born.
