False teachings

Paul stated in Acts 20:20, that after he was gone, false teachers would come and teach a false gospel even among those who say they are believers.

Today many so-called preachers and pastors teach a distorted gospel of a bit of truth but mostly falsehood and in that way many people are deceived.

Paul says in verse 30, even leaders among them will speak distorted teachings to draw them away from the truth.

Messiah reveals to us in Matthew 7:15-23 that “savage wolves” represent false prophets, those who “work lawlessness.”

Matthew 10:16 “See, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore, be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

Paul says in Acts 20:31 watch out because I warn you, this is coming.

Yahusha (Jesus) tells us to look out and know who the false teachers are in Matthew 7: 16-20, it is from their fruits that you shall know them. Do they gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? So every good tree produces good fruits, but the corrupt tree produces evil fruits. A good tree cannot produce evil fruits, nor a corrupt tree produce good fruits. Every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and is thrown into fire. Then surely from their fruits you shall know them.

Be wise, do not just believe what every man says or teaches, test their words and ask questions.

Read and listen to His Word, so you can know who is speaking truth or lies.

If you have received the Set apart Spirit (Holy Spirit), then be quiet and listen to what the Spirit tells you.

But be sure, satan will try and keep you busy with the world and its entertainment so that you hear many voices and you cannot make out who is speaking to you.

Yahusha tells us to come out from among them (those who are wicked).

Remember wickedness is not always visibly to the eye but by their fruits you will know who bears good or bad fruit.

The only true Creator

Not knowing then whom you worship, I make Him known to you: “Yahuah (Heavenly Father), who made the world and all that is in it, this One being Master of heaven and earth… – Paul said this to the people in Rome who were worshipping an unknown false god – Acts 17:23-24.

In the same verse Paul says, the Almighty does not dwell in dwellings made with hands (buildings made by man).

Acts 7:48-50 “However, the Most High does not dwell in dwellings made with hands, as the prophet says: ‘The heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. What house shall you build for Me? Says Yahuah, or what is the place of My rest? ‘Has My hand not made all these?’

Paul is speaking directly out of the Old Testament. Listen careful to what Paul is saying! Keep in mind Paul is speaking these words after the Messiah has ascended to heaven, so Paul and we are in the same situation which is that Yahusha (Jesus) no longer is on earth.

Hear!

Many believers are under the impression Yahuah is only to be found at a building made by man called a church. Be it Methodist Church, NG Kerk, Baptist church and so on, this is where believers go every Sunday for a few hours and spend time with the Almighty. This is how I grew up thinking: That we only worship Him 2 hours on a Sunday morning at a building called the church. The rest of the time we do what we want to, until the next Sunday when we again go to a building to listen and praise Him.

In this time, we put on our best clothes, the best make-up, hair is done up and we make sure our car is spotless clean.

Paul said, “Men of Athens (town in Rome), I see that you are very religious in every matter –Acts 17:22. If Paul was here today, he would say the same thing! “You guys are very religious in how you are worshipping.”

It is not wrong to get together with other believers in a building to fellowship and praise the Almighty; in fact, scripture (Bible) instructs us to fellowship with other believers. But to go to a place that is called the Methodist or any other Church and think this is where the Almighty dwells only, then you are mistaken to the truth.

Paul is telling you the Almighty is not dwelling in a brick building made by man’s hands.

What I am trying to tell you is this: Once you have accepted Yahusha, repented of your sins, now walking in His path and bearing true fruit – the Almighty comes to you through His Spirit (Holy Spirit) and dwells in you – you are the church made by the Almighty Creator’s hands.

This is what Paul and the prophets from the Old Testament are telling us; the Almighty dwells in our body (church) which is made by the Creator Himself, created by His hands.

Many Christians today are still following the same pattern as the Romans did in Paul’s time. They follow a religion.

You as the church have a relationship with the Almighty and you worship Him every day, every second of your life.

Your life and ways are with the Creator who made you.

Here is a warning to those who confess they are believers: Anyone who is living a double life by confessing to be a believer in Yahusha but on the other hand, lives a life of drinking, cursing, drug using, watching bad movies or listening to demonic music, not having forgiveness, been prideful and so on, must know the Holy Spirit will not dwell in you because Yahuah says: there where wickedness (unclean) is there He is not.

I lived like this as a young man, listen to rock music, watch movies with nakedness, blasphemy and cursing, and worship sport and then told everyone I am a believer. Praise Father, by His mercy, I have repented of these things and now trying to walk in His path.

We all make these mistakes but we must return to Father and obey Him.

Abstain from defiling yourself

When and how did you come to know or hear of Messiah Yahusha (Jesus)?

We all did not know Messiah at one point until someone spoke of Him or you read a verse about Him in scripture. What the pastors/priests/parents don’t tell us, is there are minimum requirements we must abstain from when accepting the Messiah as our saviour.

I believe the reason why this was not taught to us is because there are all sorts of denominations (different churches) which teach some scripture parts and exclude other parts to suit their church doctrine. This is called religion!

Following, obeying and worshipping the Creator is not a religion, it is a relationship.

When Paul and the disciples took the Good News of Messiah to the other nations which did not know Him, they all agreed that there would be four things the new believers should not do to be accepted into following the Messiah.

Why did they agree on these four things the other nations should abstain from?  It was to bring them slowly into the truth so they could grow from a baby (little wisdom) to an adult with full wisdom and truth.

Here is a simple example: If I told someone who wanted to breed dogs for competitions the requirements to achieve this would be; will need a degree, must be strong built, will mostly only sleep 2 hours a night, work many weekends, little to no salary, travel most times, and need to groom the dogs daily and so on! This person most properly would run away. But if I told the person the basic requirements to start off so the dogs can slowly grow and become confident in performing competitions would be the following four steps:

1 - Spend time with the dogs to know their habits. 2 - Groom them regularly to bond with them. 3 – Hard training once a week to keep them fit and slim. 4 – Feed them healthy food daily to keep them alert and strong.

Once these four steps are successful been carried out the person would have acquired more wisdom by this time to move to the next level in achieving a champion dog at the highest level of competition.

This is the reason Paul and the other leaders instructed the new believers, as a minimum to abstain from 4 things to be accepted in the congregation. They are written in Acts 15:20 and 29;

Verse 20 but that we write to them to abstain from the defilements of idols, and from whoring, and from what is strangled, and from blood.

Verse 29 that you abstain from what is offered to idols, and blood, and what is strangled, and whoring.  If you keep yourselves from these, you shall do well. Be strong!

They wanted new believers to abstain from these basic requirements so they could enter the congregation every Sabbath where they would study scripture and learn the will of Yah. They would hear His Word, and progressively start changing their lives to the Messiah’s way.

If the leaders told the people from the start what they should not do, most of them would turn away and go back to worshipping false gods.

These 4 habits the nations (gentiles) were involved was the basic steps to becoming cleanse of sin; therefore, they were called necessities as seen in verse 28. These are the 4 minimum requirements (necessities) according to scripture a new believer shall not do to prevent defilement:

1 – Idols.

2 – Whoring.

3 – Strangled.

4 – Blood.

It would be ridiculous to think these are the only 4 requirements that a new gentile believer needed to follow, as it does not mention murder, blasphemy or even belief of Yahusha.

The Apostles are simply making basic rules that will allow them to meet together with a clear conscience. These 4 points are not the only requirements that a new gentile believer will have to learn, but they are a starting point, as in verse 21 it clearly states that the gentiles will “hear the commands (Torah) each Sabbath that they meet” with other believers.

Let us look at each one separately!

1 – Idols: 1 Corinthians 10:14 therefore, my beloved ones, flee from idolatry. 1 Corinthians 10:20-21 says you cannot worship idols/demons and also the Almighty at the same time. Is there any idolatry worshipping today? Many are doing it unknowingly! Money, work, sport and movie/music/sports star just to name a few. Think about it this way; anything you are obsessed with (worldly things) and must have can be seen as idolatry. Anything more important than the Most High.

2 – Whoring (Adultery): Messiah said in Mark 7:20-21 what defiles a man (woman), whoring is one of many that defile a person. In 1 Corinthians 6:13 Paul says your body is made for the Master (Messiah – who’s Spirit lives in you) and you will be destroyed if your body is used for whoring. In verse 18 it says; flee from whoring! 2 Corinthians 12:21 repent of your whoring before it is too late. Jude 1:7 Sodom & Gomorrah is a reminder to us as to what happens when whoring does not stop. What about whoring today? Sex with animals, men with men, married man with another married woman and woman with woman is this not whoring!

3 – Strangled: Means one way of eating meat with blood. Heavenly Father says life is in the blood, therefore He instructs us to remove the blood from whatever meat we eat. Have you not heard people say when they braai or eat out at a restaurant; if I still see the blood when meat is cooked then it is still alive. Father says no to this because there where blood is there is life. Blood represents life! Messiah’s crucified blood gave us life.

4 – Blood:  Matthew 23:35 so that on you should come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zekaryah, son of Barachias, whom you murdered between the Dwelling Place and the altar. Matthew 26:28 “For this is My blood, that of the renewed covenant, which is shed for many for the forgiveness of sins. We shall not shed other people’s blood for harm or murder – any innocent blood.

What does the Old Testament or the Torah (Instructions) say about these 4 necessities;

1 – Idols: Exodus 22:20 “He who slaughters (worships) to a mighty one (idol), except to Yahuah only, is put under the ban.

2 – Whoring (Adultery); Numbers 25:1-2 and Israel lived in Shittim. And the people began to fornicate (whore) with the daughters of Moab. And they called the people to the sacrifices of their gods. And the people ate and bowed themselves to their gods. Remember Sodom & Gomorrah was destroyed because of whoring.

3 – Strangled: Genesis 9:4 “But do not eat flesh with its life, its blood. Leviticus 3:17 ‘An everlasting law throughout your generations in all your dwellings: you do not eat any fat or any blood.’ ” Deuteronomy 12:22-23 “Only, as the gazelle and the deer are eaten, so you are to eat of it. The unclean and the clean alike eat of it. “Only, be firm not to eat the blood, for the blood is the life, do not eat the life with the meat.

4 – Blood: Genesis 4:10 and He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s (Abel) blood cries out to Me from the ground. Genesis 9:5-6 “But only your blood for your lives I require, from the hand of every beast I require it, and from the hand of man. From the hand of every man’s brother, I require the life of man. “Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood is shed, for in the image of Elohim (Almighty) has He made man.

Now the question is; are we abstaining from these 4 simple requirements or are we just like the gentles (other nations) that mix the clean (true gospel) with the unclean (false gospel).

It is simple; you are in or you are out, there is nothing in-between.

These are hard words but the Word of Yahuah is clear; you cannot worship two Masters!

If you have ears to hear – hear!

Worship of men

To whom are we giving the glory – to the Creator or to men?

Many may say they are worshipping the Creator but many are unknowingly giving indirectly glory to man.

Simple example: Watching a superman movie and all the wonders this man does brings indirect glory to man even if just a movie. After the movie you may say to your friend “wow, did you see how he saved the world.” Indirectly without you knowing it you are saying there is no Creator. You may say; well, I know it is not true but there are kids that do not think this way and even adults!

Look what happen to Paul in Acts 14:8-15 when a cripple was healed! When the people saw this happen, they started to worship Paul and Barnabas – verse 12.

They even called them the Greek gods – zeus and hermes. The priests of these false gods wanted to offer a sacrifice to them – verse 13.

Today these same false gods are worship by means of statues, movie heroes, and comic book heroes (some of the names are changed to hide their identity). People are blinded and do not realize what they are enjoying watching on TV or in the movies.

Hear what Paul says to those people which is applicable for us today. Firstly, he says how could you worship us as we are normal people just like you but you should worship the Creator as He made heaven and earth – verse 15.

Then in verse 16-17 Paul says: Heavenly Father allowed past generations to walk in their own ways even though He gave witnesses and doing good to them - giving rain, make farm crops bear fruit, giving food/water and health.

In Matthew 5:45 it says: Father makes the sun come up on the wicked and the good, He sends rain to the good and to the bad.

Why would Father do this?

Why for all, good or bad? It is because many people do not know Him and He shows kindness, loving, patience and long suffering to them, even to those that are taught wrongly by false priests/pastors He shows this patience.

But did these people listen to Paul! No, they still did not believe what Paul told them – verse 18. What many do not realize; after many warnings Father’s patience runs out and judgment follows.

When this happens, many do not understand why this is occurring but if you read the Bible you will notice this happened to the Israelites at various times.

Yahusha (Jesus) in the gospels warns us regarding wilful sinning. Yahuah only allows this to continue for a certain period of time, until His patience is up, then Judgment comes – Acts 17:30-31, “Truly, then, having overlooked these times of ignorance, Elohim now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has set a day on which He is going to judge the world in righteousness by a Man whom He has appointed, having given proof of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”

We serve a loving Heavenly Father but at one point Father draws the line. He has given us His Word the Messiah, He has given us His Spirit (Holy Spirit) and He has given us the prophets/apostles who have given the scriptures (Bible) for us to know Him.

We do not have any excesses but to worship Him in truth. If we love Him, we will obey Him and if we what to know Him, He will reveal Himself to us.

Sit back and think deeply as to what you are watching on TV/ the movies. Is it horror, sex, drugs, super heroes (idols), drinking and bad language? Is this your lifestyle! If you call yourself a Christian but you are watching this bad movies/TV, then what believer are you.

Pastors may have told you Jesus loves you no matter what you do, good or bad. Or they told you Jesus knows we cannot stop sinning therefore He will still accept us even when we continue sinning. This is wrong, you have not been told all the truth!

Read Acts 17:30-31 for yourself - He commands us to repent. It is a command for all!

What is repentance – to turn away from sin and never to turn back to it!

Judgment comes to those that do not obey.
