Isaiah 58:13-14 “If you do turn back your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My set-apart day, and shall call the Sabbath‘ a delight,’ the set-apart day of Yahuah ‘esteemed,’ and shall esteem it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words, then you shall delight yourself in Yahuah. And I shall cause you to ride on the heights of the earth, and feed you with the in heritance of Jacob your father. For the mouth of Yahuah has spoken!”
The Sabbath is a very important day for YAH
We read throughout scripture the importance of this set-apart day of YAH.
Isaiah tells us not to turn away from the Sabbath to do our own pleasure but to call the Sabbath a delight when keeping it set-apart.
It is not just any day but a set-apart day of YAH.
This day should be a delight and we should glorify Him.
We should not be doing our own ways, nor our own pleasure but rather delight yourself in YAH.
A believer should refrain on the Sabbath from personal entertainment and self-motivated pleasure seeking.
Nehemiah warns the believer of profaning the Sabbath day and reminds us of our fore-fathers doing the same and the reason why YAH’s wrath came on Israel for profaning the Sabbath. (Nehemiah 13:15-22)
For a believer the Sabbath cannot be a burden, only a delight.
The Sabbath day is more than simply resting, but it is a day sanctified to YAH.
Keeping the Sabbath day sanctified to YAH is rewarding.
