Sinful reign

Behold, the eyes of Yahuah are on the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from the face of the earth; ……. (Amos 9:8).

Who are these sinful people Yahuah is talking about? Hard words are they not!

Verse 10 tells us who the sinful people are and those that are doing evil will die and be removed from the kingdom.

Amos 9:10 “All the sinners of My people are going to die by the sword, those who are saying, ‘Evil does not overtake us nor meet us.’

Jeremiah 30:11  ‘For I am with you,’ declares Yahuah, ‘to save you. Though I make a complete end of all gentiles where I have scattered you, yet I do not make a complete end of you. But I shall reprove you in judgment, and by no means leave you unpunished.’

In Amos 9:1-4 speaking about His wroth upon the sinners. The evil ones shall not get away with their wickedness, Yah will find them even if they hide in the underground tunnels, in the highest mountains, and in the deepest seas, He will destroy them. Those who hide between other nations and think they are safe, Yah will find them and bring them to justice.

Who is this great Master, creator of the heavens and earth?

Who is building His upper room in the heavens, and has founded His firmament on the earth, who is calling for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the face of the earth – Yahuah is His Name (Amos 9:6).

Many sinful people will die but Yahuah says a remnant of the good people shall be spared. I will not completely destroy the house of Jacob (Israel), declares Yahuah (Amos 9:8).

Amos 9:9 “For look, I am commanding, and I shall sift (shake) the house of Yisra’el among all the gentiles (nations), as one sifts (shakes) with a sieve, yet not a grain falls to the ground.

Those that are scattered between the other nations by Yahuah, will be cleansed, and ultimately bring them out of the nations.

Is this not the promise of the Messiah, Amos 9:11 In that day I will raise up the Sukkoth of David that has fallen, and I will wall up its breaks. And I will raise up its ruins, and I will build it as the days of old.

Confirmed in Acts 15:15-18 “And the words of the prophets agree with this, as it has been written: ‘After this I shall return and rebuild the Booth of David which has fallen down. And I shall rebuild its ruins, and I shall set it up, so that the remnant of mankind shall seek Yahuah, even all the gentiles on whom My Name has been called, says Yahuah who is doing all this, ’who has made this known from of old.

Now that Yahusha the Messiah has come to earth and returned back to the heavens the following prophesy is in process of happening.

Amos 9:13-15 Behold, the days are coming, declares Yahuah, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who draws along seed. And the mountains shall drip new must, and all the hills will be dissolved. And I will bring back the captivity of My people Israel. And they shall build the waste cities, and live in them. And they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine of them. They shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them on their land, and they shall never again be pulled up out of their land which I have given to them, says Yahuah your Elohim.

A beautiful promise of restoration.

Seeking the Word

“See, days are coming,” declares the Master Yahuah, “that I shall send a hunger in the land, not a hunger for bread, nor a thirst for water, but for hearing the Words of Yahuah. “And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east – they shall diligently search, seeking the Word of Yahuah, but they shall not find it. In that day the beautiful virgins and the young men shall faint with thirst – Amos 8:11-13.

This hunger and thirst for Yah’s Word has occurred at various stages in history and will happen again, in fact may be presently happening.

How many times have you wondered what the real truth is! We hear many speak different doctrines regarding scripture which only confuses you further? I have many times felt something is wrong when some pastor or priest speaks about scripture that makes little sense.

Today it could include a spiritual hunger for the Word of Truth.

Many go to church to feel good seeking the Word but don't find it due to their sinful lifestyle or the preacher is teaching falsehood, tinkling the ear (make you feel good). Many are deceived by the world’s religion thinking they found the Word of Yahuah not realizing they are following a man-made religion only making you feel good (tinkling the ear).

How do you find the Word of Yahuah?

Firstly, repent (turn back) so you can be forgiven by Yahuah through Yahusha Messiah, then seek Him with your whole heart. Once you have found the truth through the Ruach (Spirit) given by Yahuah, will the Words of Yahuah be in you and you will walk in them day and night.

How disparately do you want to know the Creator Father. Don't seek the truth through man's religion. Do you really think the Almighty wants people to be in a religion. Yahuah wants us to fellowship directly with Him.

Seek the truth! Ask Him for the truth!

No forgiveness

Can someone not be forgiven? When can someone not be forgiven?

In the Christian faith it’s been taught “say a pray and you will be forgiven.” Your sins are forgiven through Jesus’ blood, so no matter what you do, Jesus has taken your place of punishment.

Based on the above many believers think they can continue in sin. Sadly, many are deceived and don’t even know what sin is.

In Amos chapter 6, Yahuah says Israel has become a nation relying on man and their riches. They think they are better, stronger, greater than other nations but Yah says because of your pride and greed they will be exiled. Israel turned what is right into wrong and because of these wrongs they will be punished.

In chapter 7 Amos asks Yahuah to forgive Israel and not to punish them, but this is what Yahuah says to Amos. Amos was a shepherd and animal herder and he pleads for Israel with a shepherd's heart.

Amos 7:1-6 This is what the Master Yahuah showed me, and see, He was forming locust swarms at the beginning of the late crop. And see, it was the late crop after the mowings of the sovereign. And it came to be, when they had finished eating the grass of the land, that I said, “O Master Yahuah, forgive, I pray! How does Jacob (Israel) survive, for he is small?” Yahuah relented concerning this. “It shall not be,” said Yahuah. This is what the Master Yahuah showed me, and see, the Master Yahuah was calling to contend by fire, and it consumed the great deep and did consume the portion, and I said, “O Master Yahuah, please stop! How does Jacob survive, for he is small?” Yahuah relented concerning this.“This shall not be either,” said the Master Yahuah.

Yahuah tells Amos a plumb-line is set between the people and He will no longer forgive.

Amos 7:7-8 This is what He showed me, and see, Yahuah stood on a wall made with a plumb-line, with a plumb-line in His hand, and Yahuah said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A plumb-line.” And Yahuah said, “See, I am setting a plumb-line in the midst of My people Yisra’el, no longer do I pardon them.

In Amos 7:17 is the predicted fall of Israel due to their sin.

In Amos 8:2 Yahuah says for a second time He will not forgive Israel any longer.

And Yahuah said to me, “The end has come upon my people Yisra’el, no longer do I pardon them.

Why did Yahuah not forgive Israel this time?

Yahuah is patience, long suffering and merciful but a time comes when Yahuah’s patience runs out and He has no other choice but to punish. Just like a parent warns his child to stop been naughty and after many talking to stop, turns to punishment.

Israel was warned by many prophets but they still did not hear.

Many people could not wait for Sabbath to pass so they could go back to selling and making money. Riches was more important than the Sabbath or Yahuah.

Amos 8:4-6 Hear this, you who are swallowing up the needy, to do away with the poor of the land, saying, “When does the New Moon pass so that we sell grain, and the Sabbath so that we trade our wheat, to make the ephah small and the shekel large, and to falsify the scales by deceit, to buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals, and sell the chaff of the wheat?”

Chapter 8 renews the declaration, that the end of Israel was come on account of their iniquity. Yahuah would no longer pass it over. The prophet announces likewise the distress the people should come into from being deprived of all guidance from Yahuah. They who trusted in the vanities that Israel had set up for themselves should fall, and never rise again.

What do you think, are our days coming as in Amos time?

It must be a lesson for us, so that we turn back in truth. Hear and do.

Seek good not evil

Hear this word which I am lifting up against you, a dirge, O house of Israel. The virgin of Israel has fallen, and will not arise again; she lies forsaken on her land; there is no one raising her up – Amos 5:1-2.

Hard words that came upon Israel.

Yahuah says twice to Israel “Seek Me and live.” (Amos 5:4 and 6).

“Seek Me and live,” applies to us!

We need to turn what is not right back to what must be right.

Seek good and not evil, so that you live – Amos 5:14.

We need to hate evil and to love good, and to bring justice and truth back into our life and our nation. So, Yah may be gracious to us as He is to the remnant – Amos 5:15.

Most people hate truth or do not want to hear the truth and even will reject those who speak the truth – Amos 5:10.

Isaiah 59:15 And the truth is lacking, and whoever turns away from evil makes himself a prey. And Yahuah saw, and it displeased Him that there was no right-ruling.

2 Timothy 4:3-5 For there shall be a time when they shall not bear sound teaching, but according to their own desires, they shall heap up for themselves teachers tickling the ear, and they shall indeed turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to myths. But you be sober in all matters, suffer hardships, do the work of an evangelist, accomplish your service completely.

If you read Amos 5:3, only a remnant will accept truth and be saved.

Yahuah says in Amos 5:21-22 I hate, I reject your feast days; and I will not delight in your festive assemblies. Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not be pleased.

Are these feasts Yah speaking about; Christmas, Easter, Valentine, Mother’s Day etc., or is it His feasts of Leviticus 23 which is to remind Israel of Yahuah's redemption through His promised Messiah; instead, it became nothing more than a ritualistic time for drunkenness and immorality.

Yahuah says again, let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream – Amos 5:24.

Sadly, most turn to idol worship and entertainment – Amos 5:26.

Be warned, just like Yahuah brought judgment on Israel so He will bring it on us if we do not seek Him – Amos 5:27.

Yahuah is His Name! (Amos 5:8 and 27).

Seek good and live.
