False prophets

Scripture warns of false prophets. False prophets or teachers can have a devastation effect on believers who are new followers or those who don’t know the complete word.

Peter goes into detail as to warn us of these false prophets and teachers. We need to be awake and to test everything when someone speaks prophesy or teaches the word.

We must remember the devil will come in all types of forms to deceive, lie and destroy.

2 Peter 1:20-21 mentions that the prophesy in scripture did not come from man or from their own interpretation. Yahuah spoke through His Ruach (Set-apart Spirit) of prophesy to man.

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture came to be of one’s own interpretation, for prophecy never came by the desire of man, but men of Elohim spoke, being moved by the Set-apart Spirit (2 Peter 1:20-21).

Isaiah 28:10 states “line on line precept on precept”, showing the scripture interprets itself, but you may have to go to other books of the scripture transcribed by a different person, but Yahuah is the author of all of it.

2 Peter 2:1 But there also came to be false prophets among the people, as also among you there shall be false teachers, who shall secretly bring in destructive heresies, and deny the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction on themselves.

Yahusha reveals unto us that the false prophets are those who work lawlessness (Mathew 7:15-23) and Peter does the same in chapter 2, in verse 7-8, and again in verse 21: those who turn away from the Set-apart Command.

2 Peter 2:2-3 And many shall follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of, and in greed, with fabricated words, they shall use you for gain. From of old their judgment does not linger, and their destruction does not slumber.

Many today preach the word for gain. Nowhere in scripture does it say you must make the gospel your career where you earn money for a living. A lot of innocent believers’ mis-interpret the scripture and some are just false teachers using the scripture to make money.

Yahusha clearly says…… “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. You have received without paying, give without being paid (Matthew 10:8).

The word, prophesy and the truth are given to us all for free, we should share it for free not to gain.

2 Peter 2:18-19 For speaking arrogant nonsense, they entice – through the lusts of the flesh, through indecencies – the ones who have indeed escaped from those living in delusion, promising them freedom, though themselves being slaves of corruption – for one is a slave to whatever overcomes him.

These false prophets/teachers speak lies (little bit of truth mixed with many lies) promising all sorts of doctrine but is only false hope.

2 Peter 2:20-21 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Master and Saviour Yahusha Messiah, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the set-apart command delivered unto them.

The false prophets/teachers will be punished much worse for turning away from truth.

It would be better they did not know the path of righteousness than having recognized it.

For them the proverb has proved true, “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “A washed sow returns to her rolling in the mud” (2 Peter 2:22 and Proverbs 26:11).
