Everyone doing righteousness.

1 John 2:29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone doing righteousness has been born of Him.

1 John 3:7-10 Little children, let no one lead you astray. The one doing righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous. The one doing sin is of the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of Elohim was manifested: to destroy the works of the devil. Everyone having been born of Elohim does not sin, because His seed stays in him, and he is powerless to sin, because he has been born of Elohim. In this the children of Elohim and the children of the devil are manifest: Everyone not doing righteousness is not of Elohim, neither the one not loving his brother.

1 John 5:4 because everyone having been born of Elohim overcomes the world. And this is the overcoming that has overcome the world: our belief.

1 John 5:18 We know that everyone having been born of Elohim does not sin (read 1 John 3:7-9 above), but the one having been born of Elohim guards himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.

1 John 3:6 Everyone staying in Him does not (practice) sin. Everyone sinning has neither seen Him nor known Him.

Is it true or is it possible not to sin but to be righteous? According to above it is possible if you know Yahuah and you walk truly in His ways.

For me it is possible to be righteous with the Ruach in me (Holy Spirit) and the commands written on my heart. We may still as a human being slip up and sin, but we would not practice sin as a lifestyle.

According Psalm 119:172 All the commandments are righteousness.

Titus 2:14 who gave Himself for us, to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for Himself a people, His own possession, ardent for good works.

Want to prosper?

What must be done to prosper in life according to scripture.

Psalms 1:1-3 Blessed is the man who shall not walk in the counsel of the wrong, and shall not stand in the path of sinners, and shall not sit in the seat of scoffers, but his delight is in the Torah of Yahuah, and he meditates in His Torah day and night. For he shall be as a tree planted by the rivers of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and whose leaf does not wither, and whatever he does prospers.

This is how I understand these words:

You are blessed if you do not walk, stand or sit with the wicked, the sinners and the scoffers (scorners).

You would rather walk, stand and sit in His instructions (Torah) which is a delight to you and you meditate on them day and night.

If you walk, stand and sit in His instructions, you will be like a tree that bears good fruit that never will fade and you will prosper in whatever you do in life.

Let’s breakdown the key words in above verses.

Wicked: criminal, ungodly, hostile, wrong, trouble maker, bad person.

Sinners: to miss, lead astray, offender, trespass.

Scoffers: talk arrogantly, to boast, to mock.

Torah: instruction, law, direction, to throw, to shoot, to point, to teach.

The Torah is an instruction or gives direction (law) not to be a bad person, nor to be an offender or a mocker that will lead us to bear good fruit.

Sadly, there are those who are true believers and those who are false believers.

1 John 2: 5-7 says those who guards His word truly love Him and are perfected in Him.

2 Peter 2:14-15 says there are those who cannot stop sinning, who love to be unrighteous. 1 John 3:4 says they are lawless ones.

As true believers we have a choice to prosper in life if we just bear good fruit and never fade from bearing these fruits.

Psalms tells us what we should do to be blessed and to prosper.

The world passes away

Believers are instructed not to love the world.

1 John 2:15-17 Do not love the world nor that which is in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. Because all that is in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust of it, but the one doing the desire of Elohim remains forever.

James 4:4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with Elohim? Whoever therefore intends to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of Elohim.

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you prove what is that good and well-pleasing and perfect desire of Elohim.

The world with all it’s entertainment, lust, greed and pride will pass away some day but the Creator of the universe will stand forever.

We need to come out of this worldly system as Yahuah says we cannot partake in it if we say we love Him.

Many will say it is impossible to be out of the world.

Yes, it is in some parts not possible to be separated from the world system example earning money to live.

But this is not what is meant to be out of this world. John is not saying that we are in no sense to love “anything” that is in the material world; that we are to feel no interest in flowers, and streams, and forests, and fountains; that we are to have no admiration for what Yah has done as the Creator of all things; that we are to cherish no love for any of the inhabitants of the world, our friends and kindred; or that we are to pursue none of the objects of this life in making provision for our families; but that we are not to love the things which are sought merely to pamper the appetite, to please the eye, or to promote pride in living, example to be rich in money, to have many houses, to be greedy and selfless.

We carry out our work and earn money to feed our family but we do not strive to be enriched with the money so we can buy whatever we see or want which may lead to lust and greed.

Physically we are in the world but we are not partakers of the world and its entertainment. The most important part is to be spiritually out of the world which will assist us to be physically out of it through the Ruach.

His Word

His Word is the Word of Life, the Truth, the commands and we must guard His Word and walk in them as they are light.

This is a mouth full, sometimes misunderstood and many times a mystery as to what it means.

We know Him if we guard His commands and if we guard His Word, we truly have the love perfected in Elohim.

Again, a mouth full. John is explaining to us that we must do to have life, to walk in life as the Word is life.

1 John 1:1 What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life.

Life which was with the Father was revealed to us that is an everlasting Life (1 John 1:2).

Deuteronomy 32:46-47 he said to them, “Set your heart on all the words with which I warn you today, so that you command your children to guard to do all the Words of this Torah (Commands). “For it is not a worthless Word for you, because it is your life, and by this Word you prolong your days on the soil which you pass over the Jordan to possess.”

1 John 1:3 our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Yahusha Ha’Mashiach.

1 John 1:5-6 And this is the message which we have heard from Him and announce to you, that Elohim is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and are not doing the truth.

Psalms 119:142 Your righteousness is righteousness forever, and Your Torah (commands) is truth.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Proverbs 7;23 For the command is a lamp, and the Torah a light, and reproofs of discipline a way of life.

1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous that He may forgive us the sins, and may cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.

John writes, that we should not sin, and if we sin, we have an Intercessor (Advocate) with the Father, that is Yahusha Ha’Mashiach (1 John 2:1).

Enoch 38:2 When the Righteous One appears in the presence of the righteous themselves, who will be elected for their works weighed by Yahuah; and when the light of the righteous and the elect, who dwell on earth, shall be revealed. Where will the habitation of sinners be? And where the place of rest for those who have rejected Yahuah? It would have been better for them, had they never been born (read Mark 14:21).

John goes further to show us what we should do to proof we are walking in Him with the perfect love.

1 John 2:3-6 And by this we know that we have known Him, if we keep His commandments. The one saying, I have known Him, and not keeping His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in that one. But whoever keeps His Word, truly in this one the love of Yahuah has been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him. The one claiming to rest in Him, ought to walk, himself, even as He walked.

Yahusha Ha’Mashiach showed us how and we need to walk as He did.

Psalms 119:1 Blessed are the perfect in the way, who walk in the teaching (commands) of Yahuah!

1 John 3:24 And the one guarding His commands stays in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He stays in us, by the Spirit (Ruach) which He gave us.

1 John 2:7 Beloved, I do not write a new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the Word which you have heard from the beginning.
