Want to prosper?

What must be done to prosper in life according to scripture.

Psalms 1:1-3 Blessed is the man who shall not walk in the counsel of the wrong, and shall not stand in the path of sinners, and shall not sit in the seat of scoffers, but his delight is in the Torah of Yahuah, and he meditates in His Torah day and night. For he shall be as a tree planted by the rivers of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and whose leaf does not wither, and whatever he does prospers.

This is how I understand these words:

You are blessed if you do not walk, stand or sit with the wicked, the sinners and the scoffers (scorners).

You would rather walk, stand and sit in His instructions (Torah) which is a delight to you and you meditate on them day and night.

If you walk, stand and sit in His instructions, you will be like a tree that bears good fruit that never will fade and you will prosper in whatever you do in life.

Let’s breakdown the key words in above verses.

Wicked: criminal, ungodly, hostile, wrong, trouble maker, bad person.

Sinners: to miss, lead astray, offender, trespass.

Scoffers: talk arrogantly, to boast, to mock.

Torah: instruction, law, direction, to throw, to shoot, to point, to teach.

The Torah is an instruction or gives direction (law) not to be a bad person, nor to be an offender or a mocker that will lead us to bear good fruit.

Sadly, there are those who are true believers and those who are false believers.

1 John 2: 5-7 says those who guards His word truly love Him and are perfected in Him.

2 Peter 2:14-15 says there are those who cannot stop sinning, who love to be unrighteous. 1 John 3:4 says they are lawless ones.

As true believers we have a choice to prosper in life if we just bear good fruit and never fade from bearing these fruits.

Psalms tells us what we should do to be blessed and to prosper.
