Concerning death

Have you like I wondered what happens when we die? Well, there is a scripture passage that explains what happens to us when we die. This scripture texts are not found in our normal scripture like example KJV, ESV, or any other popular bibles.

The words concerning death is found in 4 Ezra 7:75-101 also known as 2 Esdras. 2 Esdras (4 Ezra) will only be found in the 1611 version of KJV (Apocrypha) and the Geneva bible but the part concerning death is missing. 2 Esdras (4 Ezra)chapter 7 ends at verse 70 in 1611 KJV and Geneva bibles. The Cepher (Cepher publishing group) includes chapter 7 from verse 1 to 140.

Why was the book of 2 Esdras (4 Ezra) removed and why did those bibles who included this book have chapter 7 end at verse 70? I do not have the answer to why the book was excluded but do know how important it is to us after reading it.

Ezra receives the message concerning death in a vision/dream given by Yahuah through His angel.

Ezra asks in verse 75 whether after death our soul (ruach) is kept in rest until the end or whether the soul will be tormented at once.

Verse 78 When the decree is given by Yahuah when a man shall die, his ruach shall leave his body and return to Him who gave it which shall adore the glory of Yahuah.

Verse 79-80 Those who did not have faith and did not follow the way of Yahuah and despised his commands (Torah), plus hated those who feared Yahauh; their spirits shall not enter into a special place but shall immediately wander in torments, grieving and be sad in seven ways.

1)      Because they rejected the Torah of Yahuah (verse 81).

2)      Because they could not make a good repentance for them to live (verse 82).

3)      They will see all the rewards given to those who have trusted the covenants of Yahuah (verse 83).

4)      They shall think carefully the sufferings laid up for themselves in the last days (verse 84).

5)      They shall see the people in the special place been guarded by angels in profound quiet (verse 85).

6)      They shall see how some of them will pass into torments (suffering) (verse 86).

7)      The worse of all the above; because they shall utterly waste away in confusion and be consumed with shame and shall die with fear at seeing the glory of Yahuah before whom they sinned while they were alive, and before they are to be judged in the last days (verse 87).

Verse 88-89 Those who have guarded the ways of Yahuah when they shall be separated from their mortal body and during the time they lived in it, they served Yahuah, withstood danger every hour to guard the Torah of Yahuah perfectly.

Verse 90-91 They shall see with great joy the glory of Him who receives them, for they shall have rest in seven ways.

1)      Because they have strived with great effort to overcome the evil thoughts which was with them, that it might not lead them astray from life into death (verse 92).

2)      Because they see the inability in which the souls of the wicked wander, and the punishment that awaits them (verse 93).

3)      They see the witness of which who formed them bears concerning them, that while they were alive, they guarded the Torah which was given to them in trust (verse 94).

4)      They understood the rest they now enjoy, being gathered into their chambers and guarded by angels in profound quiet, and the glory which awaits them in the last days (verse 95).

5)      They rejoice from what they have escaped what is corruptible and shall inherit what is to come; besides they see the narrow path and toll from which they have been delivered, and the spacious liberty which they will receive and enjoy in immortality (verse 96).

6)      It is shown to them how their face is to shine like the sun, and how they are to be made like the light of the stars, being incorruptible from then on (verse 97).

7)      The greater of all the above; because they shall rejoice with boldness, and shall be confident without confusion, and shall be glad without fear, for they quickly go to observe the face of Him whom they served in life and from whom they are to receive their reward when glorified (verse 98).

Verse 100 Ezra asks if there will be time given to the souls, after they have separated from the bodies, to see what the angel have described to him?

Verse 101 the angel’s answer given to Ezra: They shall have freedom for seven days, so that during these seven days they may see the things of which you have been told, and afterwards they shall be gathered in their habitations.

Test everything said and heard.
