The Rock

Matthew 16:13-14, Messiah Yahusha (Jesus) asked the disciples what do men say who the Son of Adam is and they answered Him saying some people say it is John the Immerser (Baptist), others say Elijah and others say Jeremiah.

Verse 15-16, Messiah asked the disciples, "Who do you say I am?" And Peter (Kepha) said, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living Elohim (Almighty God)."

Matthew 16:17-18, Yahusha Messiah says "Blessed are you, Peter, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father in the heavens (other words, man has not told you this but Heavenly Father Yahuah Himself), and I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I shall build My assembly, and the gates of hell (Sheol) shall not overcome it.

Matthew 7:24-25, is about the man that build his house on the rock (strong belief) and not on sand (weak belief) and the floods did nothing to the house that was built on rock.

Verse 24-25 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does them, shall be like a wise man who built his house on the rock, and the rain came down, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

What happens to those that hears the words of Messiah but ignores them?

“And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does not do them, shall be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand, and the rain came down, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell, and great was its fall” – Matthew 7:26-27.

That is right, they are fools! If we hear but don’t do, if we do not obey, it is all in vain. John 3:36 say “He who believes in the Son possesses everlasting life, but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of Elohim remains on him.”

We are declared right through belief in the Son, but the final proof of our belief is whether we subsequently obey Him – or not!

Rock meaning strong/firm foundation able to withstand bad weather, thus Messiah said to Peter, "on this rock I shall build My assembly" which means that Peter's faith was rock solid (strong belief), and I (Messiah) shall build My assembly on Peter's faith.

Assembly of people (true believers born from above) comes together to fellowship in the Word.

Remember our body is the temple and when many bodies (temples) come together, we assembly as a group of bodies (temples) to witness in the Word.

How strong is your faith, is it like a rock (strong) which will withstand the trials and storms or is it like sand (weak) which will crumble after the first trial/storm.

Your faith can be strong by trusting and truly believing Yahuah and His Son Yahusha and being obedience to the Torah (commandments).
