Command No 1

The Creator of the universe declares He is our Elohim (Almighty) and our deliverer and asks us to demonstrate our love for Him by having no other god's and idols. Establishing, developing and maintaining that personal relationship with the true and living Elohim is the most important commitment we can ever make.

“I am Yahuah (Heavenly Father) your Elohim (Almighty) who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me” - Exodus 20:2-3.

When Messiah was asked which of all the laws of Scripture is the greatest, He responded “You shall love Yahuah your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” - Matthew 22:35-38. See also Deuteronomy 6:5.

All that we are, and everything we have, ultimately comes from one source being Heavenly Father Yahuah. Paul cautions us to be “not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living Elohim, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.” - 1 Timothy 6:17.

The only reliable assurance that our future is secure lies in our relationship with our Creator. The Scripture (Bible) affirms that our Maker is both living and real and the one and only true Elohim.
“But the Almighty is the true Elohim, he is the living Elohim, and an everlasting king…” Jeremiah 10:10.

He created for us a wonderful dwelling in our beautiful planet. He fashioned it to provide us with everything we need for our material well-being and survival. It is His desire that we enjoy and appreciate His gifts to us. At the same time, He wants us to understand that we must never direct our worship toward anything that He has created or regard it as the source of our life and blessings. Only the Creator and never the creation are to receive that honor.

The First Commandment warns us not to accept a religion or philosophy that teaches that our life and well-being originate with or depend on anything other than the one true Elohim. There is no other source of life or blessings but Elohim. There is no other power that rules over the heavens and the earth.

“Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens belong to Yahuah your Elohim, the earth also, with all that therein is” -Deuteronomy 10:14.

He alone created and sustains the universe in which we exist. Messiah explains that Yahuah is so loving and merciful toward all that “that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous” - Matthew 5:45.

Yahuah is concerned about the well-being of all people, even those who live in ignorance of His existence. It is vital that we understand Yahuah because He wants to create in us that same character of His divine nature.

Peter tells us that Heavenly Father has “given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature…” - 2 Peter 1:4.

As Paul tells us, “And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind…” - Romans 12:2.

What kind of renewal should occur in our thinking? Paul explains, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Messiah Yahusha” - Philippians 2:5.

Heavenly Father wants us to become like Him by emulating the thinking, attitudes and outlook toward life exemplified by our perfect example in Messiah. The relationship that Yahuah wants with us is that of children with their Father.

“And will be a Father unto you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Almighty Elohim” - 2 Corinthians 6:18.

Herein lies the awesome purpose of our existence: the continuing development of righteous character and our ultimate destiny as members of Heavenly Father's family (same verse; Matthew 5:48).

This is the awesome purpose for which you were born. To become a member of the very family of Elohim! What a remarkable love the living Elohim and Creator of the universe has in store for us. He wants us to be a part of His family and live forever in His Kingdom.

He tells us that our highest priority in this life is to “seek you first the kingdom of Yahuah, and his righteousness” - Matthew 6:33.

Our Heavenly Father gave us this lifetime to establish a permanent relationship with Him so we can receive eternal life as His children.

We should love, honor and respect Yahuah so much that He alone is the supreme authority and model in our lives.

He alone is Elohim.

We should allow nothing to prevent us from serving and obeying Him.

Self-Centered

King Saul (Sha'ul) was chosen by Heavenly Father Yahuah to be the first King of Israel. He gave him gifts of prophesy, a new (clean) heart and Yahuah gave all the enemies of Israel over to be defeated in battle.  All went well with Israel and King Saul until Saul became self-centered and started to go his own way and not follow Heavenly Father's way.

Yahuah instructed Saul to attack one of Israel's enemies and destroy this nation completely including all the cattle and animals so as to ensure this nation does not contaminate the people into false idol worship and miss-lead them into all sorts of abomination in the near future.  Saul won the battle but he decided to capture the king alive and keep the best lambs and cattle...opposite to what Father said he must do - 1 Samuel 15:1-9.

Not only did Saul disobey what Yahuah told him to do, he also made a monument of himself - verse 12. Saul did not find anything wrong with what he did as he said he did it for Heavenly Father - verse 13. Samuel asks him in verse 14 if you did this all for Yahuah, why are the sheep and cattle still alive. Opposite to what Heavenly Father instructed him to do.

Yahuah and Samuel were not happy with Saul. Saul then blamed the people for his actions and said they told him to do this - verse 21.

Saul was rebellious and stubborn and because of this sin, Yahuah rejected him and he was no longer seen as the king of Israel. Reading 1 Samuel 15...is it any different to what we do today?

We are also self-centered, rebellious and show stubbornness towards Heavenly Father and Messiah. Father has given us His instructions but we twist and bend them to suit us. For example; Father tells us to keep the Sabbath on the 7th day, we say "no we will keep the Sabbath on the first or second day instead". Or we decide to keep the Sabbath whenever we feel it is right for us. It is all about us! We think Father will not mind if we change His instructions a little bit. Saul also thought Father would not mind...but he was wrong!

Nowadays it is no different, it still would be wrong. Heavenly Father does not change; He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Let’s not be like Saul, if you read further in 1 Samuel, Saul rebelled even more and more, until he was completely lost, so far that he took his own life by killing himself.

Let’s not be proud, stubborn, self-centered, rebellious and wicked as this can only lead to self-destruction.

Messiah said, if we really love Him, we would give up everything and obey Him, not because we are forced too but because we love Him!

Promised Prophesy

Read this beautiful promised prophesy given by the prophet Zekaryah (Zechariah) "Take the silver and gold and make a crown, and set it on the head of the high priest, Yehoshua the son of Yehotsadag or Yahuzadak (Joshua son of Jehozadak). Tell him this is what Yahuah of Hosts says: Here is the man whose name is the Branch, and He will branch out from his place and build the temple of Yahuah. It is He who will build the temple of Yahuah, and He will be clothed with majesty and will sit and rule on his throne. And He will be a priest on his throne. And there will be harmony between the two." - Zekaryah 6:11-13.

This prophesies is profound because it not only provides a key to the Name of the Messiah, but it also describes what the Messiah will do: He will build the Temple (Body of Believers) and sit as King and High Priest. There are numerous prophecies that refer to the Messiah as "The Branch." Messiah Yahusha will be both king and priest from the Melchizedek who was a king and priest.

Zechariah 3:8 ‘Now listen, Yehoshua (Joshua) the high priest, you and your companions who sit before you, for they are men of symbol. For look, I am bringing forth My Servant – the Branch.

Isaiah 4:2 in that day the Branch of Yahuah shall be splendid and esteemed. And the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for the escaped ones of Israel.

In Psalms the word branch and son are even mixed in certain translations because the meaning is so clear.

Another clue of Messiah's Name is found in the prophesy of Jeremiah 23:5-6 & 33:16, "Behold, the days are coming, says Yahuah, that I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; a King shall reign and prosper, and execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In His days Judah (Yahudah) will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely; now this is His Name by which He will be called: Yahuah Our Righteousness."

We know by this verse that the Messiah has part of His Father's Name.

The scriptures have so much information, and it is available for all to read.

In Vain

Exodus 20:7, the 3rd Commandment, specifically instructs us not to take the Name of the Creator "in vain" and "He will not hold him guiltless who takes His Name in vain."

Most people have been taught that this simply warns of using the Name lightly or in the context of swearing. This certainly is one aspect of the command, but if we look further into the Hebrew word for vain - we find that it has a deeper meaning: "desolating, uselessness, emptiness, nothingness or naught."

We have been warned not only to avoid using the Name lightly, but also not to bring it to naught, which is exactly what has been done.

The Name of the Creator which we have a privilege of calling on and praising has been suppressed to the point where most believers do not even know the Name, let alone use it.

This sounds like a conspiracy and it is.

Anyone who believes in the Scriptures must understand that there is a battle between good and evil. There is a prince of darkness, satan, who understands very well the battle which has been raging since creation of time. He will do anything to distract or destroy those searching for the truth, and he is very good at what he does. He is the master of deception and father of lies, and he does not want the truth to be revealed.

His goal is to steal, kill and destroy - John 10:10.

The enemy has operated both openly and behind the scenes over centuries to infect, deceive, distract and destroy Believers with false doctrine. He truly is a wolf in sheep's clothing, and his desire is to rob the Believer of blessings and life.

We are given wonderful promises in the Scriptures (Bible) concerning blessings for those who obey the commandments.

If you truly love Him, then you would keep the commands which also include finding out what His Name is and then not to us His Name in vain!

Belief - No Fear

Revelation 13:9 if anyone has an ear, let him hear.

Revelation 13:10 he who brings into captivity shall go into captivity, he who kills with the sword has to be killed with the sword. Here is the endurance and the belief of the set-apart ones.

1. If we promote others into captivity to protect ourselves---we go into captivity.
2. If we kill by weapons we shall be killed by weapons.
3. We can escape and endure by faith and trust as we hear and obey- believing Him.

We fear not! We only believe!

Mark 5:35-36 As He was speaking, they came from the ruler of the congregation’s house, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” But having heard the word that was spoken, Messiah said to the ruler of the congregation, “Do not be afraid – only believe.”

Isaiah 60:1-2 “Arise, shine, for your light has come! And the esteem (Glory) of Yahuah has risen upon you. “Look; darkness covers the earth and thick darkness the peoples. But Yahuah arises over you, and His esteem is seen upon you.

It is getting really bad; darkness is creeping upon us. Wickedness is increasing- blatantly they do evil in our governments with no regard to the people and their desires. The love of many grows cold.

What we see is only the beginning of evil, but we shall shine brighter and brighter and do exploits in His set apart Name: If we have an intimate relationship with our Elohim (Almighty)!

If not- we will be consumed also.

We are here to produce fruit, good fruit! We overcome with the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. Our testimony is our words and our sharing our faith and beliefs with others- unashamed of His Gospel.

His Gospel (Good News- His Word/s) has the power to produce life and deliverance in every confrontation with the enemy of our souls. We use our testimonies until it is finished- then what purpose would it be for us to escape and endure- if we are unwilling to build the Kingdom?

We are told to pray that we are made worthy to still be alive at His coming. We are told to be sober and alert and escape and endure. The enduring of the saints is having trust and faith and an ear to hear and follow our King!

Romans 1:16-17 for I am not ashamed of the Good News (Gospel) of Messiah, for it is the power of Elohim for deliverance to everyone who believes, to the Judah first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of Elohim is revealed from belief (faith) to belief (faith), as it has been written, “But the righteous shall live by belief (faith).”
