The lazy and the hard worker

Parable of the Ant

Go to the ant, you lazy one! See her ways and be wise, which, having no commander, overseer or ruler, provides her supplies in the summer, gathers her food in the harvest. How long would you lie down, O lazy one? When do you arise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to lie down; and your poverty shall come like a prowler, and your need as an armed man - Proverbs 6:6-11.

The verses above not only talk about those who are lazy to work or to have someone watch over you (boss) making sure you are doing what you supposed to be doing. This parable of the ant is also about a person’s faith (belief); we do not need someone like a pastor, parents or a teacher to make sure we follow Yahuah.

Be wise as the ant; build your relationship with Him now, without the traditions of man. The pastor or parent cannot give you salvation, this is something you must work out on your own.

Again, O lazy one, when will you come out of your lukewarm belief! A little sleep, a little playing around, a little doing this and doing that and when you wipe the sleep out of your eyes, the door to Yahuah's kingdom will be closed.

O, wake up those who are lukewarm, who only worship Yahuah when they are in need or when they feel like it!

Be like the ant and build up your crown of treasure now that you still have time because you never know when the door will close and then it is to late.

Proverbs of a Lazy + Hard worker

Poor is he who works with a lazy hand, but the hand of the hard worker makes rich. He who gathers in the summer is a wise son, he who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame - Proverbs 10:4-5.

As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so is the lazy one to those who send him - Proverbs 10:26.

The hand of the hard worker rules, but the lazy is put to compulsory labour - Proverbs 12:24.

The lazy one has no game to roast, but the hard worker prizes his possessions - Proverbs 12:27.

The being (soul) of the lazy one craves (desires), but has not; while the being of the hard workers is enriched (enhance) - Proverbs 13:4.

The way of a lazy one is like a hedge of thorns, but the way of the straight is a highway - Proverbs 15:19.

Also, he who is slack in his work is a brother of a master destroyer - Proverbs 18:9.

Laziness makes one fall into a deep sleep, and an idle being (soul) suffers hunger - Proverbs 19:15.

A lazy one buries his hand in a dish, and does not bring it back to his mouth - Proverbs 19:24.

The lazy one does not plough after the autumn; at harvest time he inquires - there is none! - Proverbs 20:4.

The plans of the hard worker lead only to plenty, but all rash haste only to poverty - Proverbs 21:5.

The desire of the lazy man slays him, for his hands refused to work - Proverbs 21:25.

The lazy one says: "There is a lion outside!" "I am going to be murdered in the streets!" - Proverbs 22:13.

I passed by the field of the lazy, and by the vineyard of the man lacking heart; and see, it was all overgrown with thorns; .... - Proverbs. 24:30.

As a door turns on its hinges, so does the lazy one turn on his bed. The lazy one buries his hand in a dish; it tires him to bring it back to his mouth. The lazy one is wiser in his own eyes than seven rendering advise - Proverbs 26:14-16.

He who tills his land is satisfied with bread, but he who pursues vanities (pride) is filled with poverty - Proverbs 28:19.

The heart of the understanding one gets knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge - Proverbs 18:15.

Cease, my son, to hear discipline, and you shall stray from the words of knowledge - Proverbs 19:27.

There is gold and a multitude of rubies, but the lips of knowledge are a precious vessel - Proverbs 20:15.

When the scoffer is punished, the simple is made wise; but when the wise is instructed, he receives knowledge - Proverbs 21:11.

Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise, and apply your heart to my knowledge; for they are pleasant if you guard them within you; let all of them be ready on your lips. That your trust might be in Yahuah, I caused you to know today, even you: have I not previously written to you of counsels (advise) and knowledge, to cause you to know the certainty of the words of truth, to return words of truth to those who send to you? - Proverbs 22:17-21.

Bring your heart to discipline, and your ears to words of knowledge - Proverbs 23:12.

But by a man of understanding and knowledge, right is maintained - Proverbs 28:2.

Proverbs of a man

Blessed is the man who found wisdom, and the man who gets understanding; for the gain from it is better than gain from silver......Proverbs 3;13-14.

A man of understanding keeps silence - Proverbs 11:12.

A lovingly-committed man is rewarding his being(soul), but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh - Proverbs 11:17.

The words of a man's mouth are deep waters; the fountain of wisdom is a flowing stream - Proverbs 18:4.

Most men proclaim each his own loving-commitment, but who finds a trustworthy man? The righteous man walks in his integrity (being honest); his children are blessed after him - Proverbs 20:6-7.

Like a bird that wanders from his nest, so is a man who wanders from his place - Proverbs 27:8 (a married man that does not stay at his house with his wife).

A man of truth has many blessings, but one in a hurry to be rich does not go unpunished - Proverbs 28:20.

A man with an evil eye runs after wealth.... Proverbs 28:22.

The pride of man brings him low, but the humble in spirit obtains esteem - Proverbs 29:23.

No matter what men's position is, weather in the assembly, the family or society, they are accountable to Yahuah.

And the greater the responsibility, the stricter will be the judgment.

Yah is my strength

Yah (Heavenly Father) is my strength and song, and He has become my deliverance (saviour) - Psalms 118:14.

Yah is my strength and song, and He has become my deliverance. He is my El, and I praise Him - Elohim (Almighty) of my father, and I exalt Him - Exodus 15:2.

"See, El (Almighty) is my deliverance, I trust and am not afraid. For Yah, Yahuah, is my strength and my song; and He has become my deliverance." And you shall draw water with joy from the fountains of deliverance. "Praise Yahuah, call upon His Name; make known His deeds among the people's, make mention that His Name is exalted - Isaiah 12:2-4.

Is Yahuah your deliverance, if so, He is your strength and song.

Do not rely on your own strength as it is for naught! It is better to take refuge in Yahuah than to trust princes (man) - Psalms 118:9.

Who do you trust, is it man or is it the Creator of the heavens and the earth?

His Name has power.

In the Name of Yahuah through the Name of Yahusha the Messiah (Jesus), you can cut your enemies down, you can heal, you can drive out evil spirits - Psalms 118:10-13.

Oh, give thanks to Yahuah, for He is good! - Psalms 118:1.

Yahuah has remembered us; He blesses us; He blesses the house of Israel; He blesses the house of Aharon, He blesses those who fear Yahuah, the small and the great - Psalms 115:12-13.

Praise Yahuah, all you nations! Extol Him, all you people's! For His loving-commitment is mighty over us, and the truth of Yahuah is everlasting. Praise Yah! - Psalms 117:1-2.

Oh, Abba, we love You!

The story of Job, the true believer

Job's sufferings

What if you lost everything; your work, your home, your car, clothes, money and even your family? Would you still trust Heavenly Father Yahuah? .... Job did!

After he lost everything even his health, he still praised Yahuah. Job walked a straight path with Yahuah, he did not turn aside to evil (sin) - Job 1:1.

Because of Job's obedience and righteous living, Father Yahuah blessed him with richness and health. Job had 7 sons and 3 daughters and he had a lot of livestock, for example 7000 sheep and 3000 camels to name but a few - Job 1:2-3.

Yahuah said there was none like Job on the earth who was perfect and walked a straight path and feared Elohim - Job 1:8.

Satan said to Yahuah that he would be able to deceive Job and ensure that Job would curse Heavenly Father - Job 1:9-10. Yahuah gave satan permission to try Job - Job 1:11-12.

Father is in control of the good and He is in control of the bad. Satan cannot do anything to anyone that walks the path of Yahuah, without Father's permission.

Father allowed satan to test Job. Father knew Job's heart and knew that whatever happened to Job, he would never turn away from Yahuah and this was the reason He allowed satan to test him.

The 1st day, enemies (Sabeans) came and destroyed all cattle and many servants of Job.

The 2nd day fire broke out in the fields and burned all 7000 sheep, including servants of Job.

The 3rd day more enemies (Chaldean) came and destroyed all Jobs camels and servants.

The 4th day all Job's 10 children were killed - Job 1:13-19.

You know what Job did, he tore his clothes and shaved his head and fell to the ground and did obeisance - Job 1:20.

Still he worshiped Yahuah, Job 1:21; Job said, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I return there. Yahuah has given, and Yahuah has taken away. Blessed be the Name of Yahuah."
While I was writing this down, I asked myself, how would I react if these things that happened to Job happened to me? Would my faith in Yahuah still be strong? It is a huge test.

Job's friends

Job's friends, Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar had a lot to say during Job's sufferings. They assumed they knew why Job was punished and made many assumptions and were very judgmental...although they did support him through his ordeal.

They said Heavenly Father makes good and bad people suffer and be tested. Discipline and going through pain (trials) makes people grow stronger and closer to Elohim.

The Friends said Job must search his past for sins he did, or seek if his children sinned against Yahuah, because He (Father) does not twist what is right - Job 8:3 + 8.

Yahuah does look after the good but destroys the bad. They said, Yahuah will forgive Job for his sins, because He sees all sin. They tell Job to repent after confessing his sins and not to sin again. He should make a clean start with Yahuah. They tell Job that he is only making excuses and should rather accept his punishment. They explain to Job of the lawlessness against Yahuah - Job 15:16-25.

They assure Job that the wicked will perish someday - Job 18:5-21.

Although Job's friends are correct about Heavenly Father punishing the wicked, they judged him without knowing what sin he had committed. They took the role of a judge to show Job out his wrong and that he must repent so he can be forgiven and carry on with his life. They even became angry with Job because he spoke out against Yahuah.

They told him to listen to Yahuah, because He repays the wicked and He tests people. There is nothing wrong with correcting someone if you see that he is not walking the right path according to Father's word but you need to know what that person is doing wrong. You cannot go blindly and accuse someone of doing wrong when you think you know why he/she is being punished or going through a trial.

Be patient and do it in love. Remember, in many cases the wicked do prosper for a season!

Believers should only be concerned with their path and leave judgement to Yahuah.

Yahuah was upset with Job's friends because they did not speak the right words to Job.

Yahuah told them to go to Job and ask forgiveness and also ask Job to pray for them - Job 42:7-9.

Job asks Almighty

When something bad happens to us, especially as believers, we ask Heavenly Father why these things happen to us. Job did the same; he had many questions to ask Yahuah regarding his struggles! In Job chapter 6, Job asks of Yahuah that he would live through his pain as long as Yahuah's word is not hidden from him.

In verse 22-30, Job says to Yahuah he did not ask for favors or bribes when he sinned. Or to be rescued from his enemies or from those who oppressed him. He says "Teach me, and I shall be silent. He wants to be righteous. He asks if his tongue talks unrighteousness. He asks why his sins will not be forgiven - Job 7:21.

In chapter 10, Job asks Yahuah again to show out his sins, if I sin, then watch out for me, Job says to Yahuah.

In chapter 14, he asks Yahuah about death. Job thinks Yahuah hates him and forgotten him, he even cries - Job 16:8-9, 11-13 & 16.

Job asks if Yahuah is hearing him in Job 27:9.

Job said he did not want worldly material or to gain in wealth - Job 31:24-25.

In verse 39-40 he says that he must be punished if he had sin.

In all the time that Job asks Yahuah to reply, Father stays silent. Then after a long period of time...

Yahuah speaks to Job, but instead of answering Jobs questions, Yahuah asks Job in return over 50-60 questions - Job chapter 38 to 40.

Father challenges Job by asking if he controls the pattern of the heavens as the moving of the constellations, or the procession of the months or years.

Job could not answer one question Yahuah asked. Jobs responds to Yahuah in Job 42:2-3, "You know and are able to do all, and nothing is withheld from You.

He said he spoke without knowledge and thought he understood all matters but clearly, he was wrong.

Don't we all do this; think we know better than Father? Sometimes we actually want to tell Father what He must do and how He must do it!

We do not realize that Yahuah knows all and we have no right to question His ways.
He is Almighty and we are not!

We must accept His ways. He knows what is good for us, as He knows all. We need to trust and obey Him.

What Job did was to declare himself right rather than Elohim.

Job repents and receives Blessings

Job realizes he "expected" Yahauh to answer him ...because of his suffering, but Father does not answer to man!

Job gets that all men are vile and evil compared to the great eternal, perfect, loving Creator.
Job answered Yahuah "See, I am insignificant, what would I answer You? I lay my hand over my mouth (he shuts his mouth in shame) - Job 40:3-4.

Job humbled himself towards Father and asks Yahuah for guidance - Job 42:3-4.

Job's eyes are opened to Father's desire and he repents in dust and ashes" - Job 42:5-6.

Job submits to Yahuah completely.

Job finally realizes that the only humility and repentance will lead to a true relationship with Yahuah.
After this Yahuah returned everything that he had before back to Job and gave him twice as much as he had before - Job 42:10.

The Blessings Job received back where; All his family/friends returned - verse 11.

Double blessings included, sheep, camels, oxen and other livestock - verse 12. Father blessed Job with more children - verse 13. There were found no woman so beautiful as the daughters of Job and he gave them many gifts - verse 15.

Yahuah gave Job so many blessings that he lived 140 years, and saw his children and grandchildren for 4 generations - verse 16. And Job died, old and satisfied with days - Job 42:17.

There is so much we can learn out of the story of Job's life!

I have learnt that Father sends us trials. We should not complain about the trials we go through, just trust Yahuah. We must walk a straight path with Yahuah because when the trials come, we know Father is with us no matter what we go through.

I learnt that Father speaks to us in different ways for instance in dreams and visions.

Do not question Yahuah's trials or His ways, He knows better and He is Almighty, we are not!

Never stop praying, fear Yahuah, tremble at His power, obey and be blessed.

Proclaim Yahuah's greatness and power for He looks after the good.

Praise Yah, He is great!

Celebrate birthdays

Many may not agree on what I’m about to discuss, but that is okay!

I will tell you at the end of this writing how I celebrate a birth date!

When Yahusha (Jesus) was born, there was much joy in heaven. “And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising Yahuah, and saying, Glory to Yahuah in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men,” (Luke 2:13-14).

While bringing forth a new life into the world is certainly a joy for the parents shared by others, the question arises, should we celebrate the anniversaries of one’s birth thereafter?

The day of birth is widely used by astrologers to read one’s horoscope. The word horoscope is defined as, “The aspect of the planets and stars at a given moment, such as the moment of one’s birth used by astrologers; an astrological forecast, as of a person’s future, based on a diagram of the aspect of the planets and stars,” American Heritage Dictionary.

We are made aware of the pagan practice of ascribing power or influence on a person’s life due to the position of the stars at the time of one’s birth. Astrologers allege celestial stars and planets exercise influence on one’s future! Almost every newspaper lists the daily horoscope for the signs of the zodiac. Modern astrology and horoscopes came from Babylon. “The ancient world of Egypt, Greece, Rome and Persia celebrated the birthdays of gods, kings, and nobles...

Although the ancient Israelites kept records of their male citizens, there is no evidence that they had any festivities on the anniversary of the birth date” (Encyclopaedia Americana 1991).

People believed in good and evil spirits, and being afraid that these spirits would cause harm to the birthday celebrant, he was surrounded by friends and relatives who good wishes and very presence would protect him against unknown dangers that the birthday held.

Now let us discuss the scripture……….

Yahuah’s Word warns against taking up practices of heathen: “Thus says Yahuah, learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them” (Jeremiah 10:2).

More importantly, the Bible’s mention of birthday celebrations is not a happy one. The first is with Pharaoh of Egypt, Genesis 40:20-22. The cupbearer lived, but the baker was put to death at the birthday party.

Herod also celebrated his birthday, where John the Baptist was beheaded (Mark 6:21-28).

Some scholars contend that Job 1:4-5 and 18-19 tells of the death of Job’s offspring while celebrating a birthday, which is why Job offered sacrifices for his children.

Nowhere in the Bible are we commanded to celebrate birthdays.

The Bible says just the opposite: “A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth” (Ecclesiastes 7:1).

Nowhere in the Bible do we find that the anniversary of the Saviour’s birth was celebrated.

We are, however, to observe Passover to remember His death - 1Corinthians 11:26.

We don’t observe Yahusha’s birth date as the world tries to do on December 25. Why, then, would we celebrate our own?

Yahuah’s people need to get with Yahuah’s programs and joyfully celebrate His seven commanded Feast days (Leviticus 23), thus preparing their hearts and minds and train for the coming Kingdom when these commanded times will all be observed by His sons and daughters - Isaiah 66:23.

My story….

I celebrate a birth date of my family by thanking my Heavenly Father for giving them another year here with us. I do not give presents or throw a party on their birth dates.

All my attention and celebration should be towards my Creator, which He requests me to do.
Think about this for a moment: How much celebration do so called believers give to Yahuah, compared to the celebration given towards a birthday? Many believers will make a huge effort in planning into celebrating a child’s birthday; spend huge amount of money and time on a person’s birthday. Does this same person make the same effort in giving all their attention in celebrating Yahuah? Compared to the child’s birthday, very little time is given in worshipping Yahuah.

So, this is my take on birthdays: If I cannot give all my time/celebration to Yahuah, then how can I give all my attention/celebration to all my families birth dates.

Blessed is He

Yahuah your Elohim shall raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brothers. Listen to Him according to all you asked of Yahuah your Elohim....... - Deuteronomy. 18:15-16.

Moses is speaking of the Messiah that would come in the future.

'I shall raise up for them a Prophet like you out of the midst of their brothers and I shall put My Words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. And it shall be, the man who does not listen to My Words which He speaks in My Name, I require it of him - Deuteronomy. 18:18-19.

This time it is Father Yahuah speaking about His Son the Messiah. Yahuah will give Messiah all His Words.

Messiah said in John 8:55, But I do know Him (Yahuah) and I guard His Word. "Because the Words which You (Yahuah) gave to Me (Messiah), I have given to them (to apostles and to us through the Set-apart Spirit (Holy Spirit).

Peter and John spoke to the crowed in Acts 3:22-23, saying that Moses told Israel of the Messiah. “For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘Yahuah your Elohim shall raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brothers. Him you shall hear according to all matters, whatever He says to you. ‘And it shall be that every being who does not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’

Stephen said to the Rabbis that they did not understand Moses words when he prophecy about Messiah - Acts 7:37.

David also knew about the Messiah coming and the prophecy Messiah would fulfil; I pray, O Yahuah, please SAVE us now; I pray, O Yahuah, please send prosperity. Blessed is He (Messiah) who is coming in the Name of Yahuah! - Psalms 118:25-26.

And when the people in Jerusalem saw the Messiah coming in, riding on a donkey, immediately remembered what Moses and David said years back.

Messiah came into Jerusalem on the donkey and this is what happened; And most of the crowds who went before and those who followed cried out, saying, "Hoshiana to the Son of David! Blessed is He who is coming in the Name of Yahuah (Heavenly Father)! Hoshiana in the highest!" - Matthew 21:9-10.

John 12:11-13 says, when they heard that Yahusha (Jesus) was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and were crying out, Hoshiana! Blessed is He who is coming in the Name of Yahuah, the Sovereign (King) of Israel!"

They understood the prophecy had just been fulfilled (came true). Before Messiah went back to His Father in heaven, He said that He will come back to fetch His people (those who followed Him truthfully) to reign with Him in His Kingdom.

When Messiah went up back to heaven in the clouds (Acts 1:9-10) and as the people were watching Him go up, two men in white (two angels) appeared and said; "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up into the heavens? This same Yahusha, who was taken up from you into heaven, shall come in the same way as you saw Him go into heaven." - Acts 1:11.

This prophecy must still happen and the signs are there that it will be soon.

Are we ready, are we worthy, are we preparing ourselves to meet Him?

Messiah said to Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and believed - John 20:29.

Power is Yahuah

Yahusha (Jesus) had a different kind of power than the Pharisees had, and they knew Messiah had it.

What power are we talking about? Some examples of power according to man: When you go to college and get a degree, you get a certain amount of knowledge with some authority. Knowledge is a form of power. People put their degrees after their name; it gives notice that they have a certain level of knowledge (power). Another example is titles. A President of a company is more powerful than a Department Manager. This is what is called positional authority.

Pharisees were way up there in position and knowledge. Power also comes with wealth. Today, religious men use titles and exert positional authority over the brethren. Regardless of their motives this is their authority base. Reverend, Pastor, Deacon, Rabbi are but a few examples that send the signal to us that the titled person has authority and power.

What did Yahusha think about the power of position, the use of titles and ruling by positional authority? But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all brother. And do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. And do not be called leaders; for One is your Leader, that is, Messiah. But the greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted - Matthew 23:8-12.

Is Yahusha saying that all titles are inappropriate? No, He isn't. What He is saying is the power to minister comes from Yahuah not from a title or position. Pastor is not a title; it's a work. Rabbi is not supposed to be a title; it is a work and a ministry. Minister means servant.

Power (the greatest) comes from Yahuah's ministry and service. Yahuah has all the power. Therefore, Yahusha is saying that the servant of Almighty, one who humbles himself, will have the real source of power.

How do you get this power? It comes by Yahuah's anointing. That is why the Messiah is the Anointed One.

Yahusha did not assert His title as Messiah or positional authority. He did not ask anyone to believe Him or follow Him because he was the Messiah by title. Instead, He did the work of the Messiah. He fulfilled the prophecies. He paid the price as the Lamb of Yahuah.

Religious men, like the Pharisees hand out titles to one another, then expect everyone else to do the work. They assert their position and their learned degrees (power of knowledge).

Messiah said it this way. And they tie up heavy loads, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves are unwilling to move them with so much as a finger. But they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their phylacteries, and lengthen the tassels of their garments. And they love the place of honour at banquets, and the chief seats in the synagogues, and respectful greetings in the market places, and being called by men, Rabbi - Matthew 23:4-7.

All power belongs to Yahuah; He is the only source of real power. Trying to acquire power on your own, by others giving you power, by knowledge, title, wealth, or position is temporary at best and will not remain.

At Yahusha's trial, Pilate asserted his authority as a Roman Governor saying that he had the power of life and death. Pilate therefore said to Him, "You do not speak to me? Do You not know that I have authority to release You, and I have authority to crucify You?" Yahusha answered, "You would have no authority over Me, unless it had been given you from above; for this reason, he who delivered Me up to you has the greater sin." - John 19:10-11.

Pilate's authority was temporary and was granted by Messiah’s Father. Pharaoh and Pilate didn't have the power.

Neither do other men no matter what their title.

Any authority they have has been given by Yahuah.

Just because a man is religious does not negate this truth. This is why Yahusha insists that HUMILITY is essential for effective leadership. Yahusha showed us this kind of humility while using the power of Yahuah to heal, calm the storm, speak with wisdom, and teach. The power and authority of Yahuah does not come from title or knowledge.

It comes from the anointing of Yahuah.

This is why Paul says to us. And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Messiah may dwell in me - II Corinthians 12:9.
