Tares and Chaff

Proverbs 2:20-22: “So walk in the way of goodness, and guard the paths of righteousness, for the set-apart (holy) shall dwell in the earth, and the perfect (blameless) be left in it. But, the wicked (crooked) shall be cut off from the earth, and the treacherous ones plucked up out of it.”

The saved are not going anywhere but are staying here on earth. It is the wicked that are leaving.

Matthew 13:24-30 Another parable He put before them, saying, “The reign of the heavens has become like a man who sowed good seed in his field, but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed darnel among the wheat and went away. “And when the blade sprouted and bore fruit, then the darnel also appeared. “And the servants of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? From where then does it have the darnel?’ “And he said to them, ‘A man, an enemy did this.’ And the servants said to him, ‘Do you wish then, that we go and gather them up?’ “But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the darnel you also uproot the wheat with them. ‘Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I shall say to the reapers, “First gather the darnel and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my granary.” ’ ”

Matthew 13:36-50 Then, having sent the crowds away, Yahusha went into the house. And His taught ones came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the darnel of the field.” And He answering, said to them, “He who is sowing the good seed is the Son of Adam, and the field is the world. And the good seed, these are the sons of the reign, but the darnel are the sons of the wicked one, and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. And the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the messengers. “As the darnel, then, is gathered and burned in the fire, so it shall be at the end of this age. “The Son of Adam shall send out His messengers, and they shall gather out of His reign all the stumbling-blocks (sinners), and those doing lawlessness, and shall throw them into the furnace of fire – there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. “Then the righteous shall shine forth as the sun in the reign of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear! “Again, the reign of the heavens is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man (Messiah) having found it, hid, and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. “Again, the reign of the heavens is like a man, a merchant, seeking fine pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it. “Again, the reign of the heavens is like a dragnet that was thrown into the sea and gathered some of every kind, which, when it was filled, they drew to shore. And they sat down and gathered the good into containers, but threw the rotten away. “Thus shall it be at the end of the age: the messengers shall come forth, and separate the wicked out of the midst of the righteous, and shall throw them into the furnace of fire – there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

The wicked (tares) are burned FIRST – then the righteous (wheat) are gathered into His “barns.” Note in verse 41 Yahusha says out of His Kingdom the wicked and lawless will be removed. He does not say out of the world the wicked and lawless will be removed. Lawlessness is the darnel (tares). At the end of this age the Messiah is going to send out His messengers to gather all these stumbling-blocks (sinners), as well as all “those doing lawlessness,” and throw them into the furnace of fire!

Tares sown among the wheat have to be separated from the wheat. Tares are weeds that resemble wheat and grows in-between the wheat.  Tares are masked people--religious leaders and deceitful obstacles that look good--but they are fakes.

II Corinthians 11:2-4 For I am jealous for you with a jealousy according to Elohim. For I gave you in marriage to one husband, to present you as an innocent maiden to Messiah. But I am afraid, lest, as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Messiah. For, indeed, if he who is coming proclaims another Yahusha, whom we have not proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different Good News which you have not accepted, you put up with it well enough!

II Corinthians 11:13-15 For such are false emissaries, deceptive workers, masquerading as emissaries of Messiah. And no wonder! For Satan himself masquerades as a messenger of light! It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, o whose end shall be according to their works!

II Timothy 4:1-5 In the sight of Elohim and the Master Yahusha Messiah, who shall judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His reign, I earnestly charge you: Proclaim the Word! Be urgent in season, out of season. Reprove, warn, appeal, with all patience and teaching. For there shall be a time when they shall not bear sound teaching, but according to their own desires, they shall heap up for themselves teachers tickling the ear, and they shall indeed turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to myths. But you be sober in all matters, suffer hardships, do the work of an evangelist, accomplish your service completely.

Human nature is attracted to lies and fakery that allows them to think any way they want and live any way they want.

Jeremiah 5:31 The prophets have prophesied falsely, and the priest’s rule by their own hand, and My people have loved it so. And what are you going to do at the end of it?

Isaiah 30:10 who say to the seers, “Do not see,” and to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us what is right. Speak to us what is smooth, prophesy deceits.

Does this not sound like us today?

Thus the warning in II Thessalonians 2:8-12, the great deception that is coming will be sent by Yahuah (Heavenly Father) to separate mankind into two camps – the Noah camp, and the world’s camp! Verse 8-12 And then the lawless one shall be revealed, whom the Master shall consume with the Spirit of His mouth and bring to naught with the manifestation of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power and signs and wonders of falsehood, and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth, in order for them to be saved. And for this reason, Elohim sends them a working of delusion, for them to believe the falsehood, in order that all should be judged who did not believe the truth, but have delighted in the unrighteousness.

The Flood is an example of tribulation that accompanies the wrath of Yahuah. Noah and his family were hidden and protected, but all mankind went through the wrath of Yahuah with different results.

I Thessalonians 5:8-10: “But we who are of the day should be sober-minded, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the expectation of deliverance, because, Elohim (Almighty) did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain deliverance through our Master Yahusha Messiah.”

Yahusha (Jesus) is our ark, as we dwell in the shadow, under the talit, of Yahuah in His Presence!

The “tribulum” (Tribulation) is an ancient farm instrument which was raked over wheat, the threshing process, to separate the tares and the chaff from it, so that the wheat is edible and usable.

What is the “chaff?” It is what clings to the wheat that makes it useless.

It is our sin, our fleshly lusts, our hidden goals and secret ambitions that are selfish and self-gratifying, like our holding onto security rather than holding onto Yahuah.

It is our old rebellious nature that wants to obey Satan’s one command: “Do as thou wilt.”

The chaff represents what holds us back from being all that we can be as children of Elohim!  If it is not removed, we cannot enter His Kingdom!!!
