Idol making

Read Isaiah 44:9-20 of how the people in those days made an idol for worship. After reading these verses you may say "how dumb were these people to worship a piece of iron or wood." Do you think it is any different today? Answer is no different, as many are still worshipping idols. The idols may be different in shape and material as to those days, but people are bowing to them physically or spiritually. This sounds ridiculous to some but there is nothing new under the sun. People are easily deceived, as we all have been deceived sometime in our life.

Verses 9 to 20

9Those who make an idol, all of them are emptiness, and their delights do not profit. And they are their own witnesses; they neither see nor know, so that they are put to shame.

Other words; they are brainwashed.

10Who would form a mighty one or cast an idol that is of no value?

Good question? What are the idols of today that are of no value?

11 See, all his companions are ashamed, and the workmen, they are but men. Let them all be gathered together, let themstand up, let them fear, let them be put to shame, altogether.

The workmen of these idols were men. Today’s idols are no different to those days, still workmen of men.

12The craftsman in iron with the tools works one in the coals, and fashions it with hammers, and works it with the strength of his arms. Even so, he shall be hungry, and has no strength; he drinks no water and is weary.

The idols of men are lifeless with no soul but man believes in them. In the end these people become depressed, are negative towards life and end up feeling empty.

13The carpenter stretches out his rule, he outlines it with chalk; he fashions it with a plane, and he outlines it with the compass, and makes it like the figure of a man, according to the comeliness of a man, to remain in the house.

The time and effort taken to craft this idol only to realize later it is dead. People living in fear look to another source for comfort or to fulfill their emptiness by turning to man-made stuff.

14He cuts down cedars for himself, and takes cypress and oak, which he raised among the trees of the forest. He has planted a pine, and the rain nourishes it.

15And it shall be for a man to burn, for he takes some of it and warms himself. He also kindles it and shall bake bread. He also makes a mighty one (a god) and bows himself to it – has made it a carved image and falls down before it.

16 Half of it he shall burn in the fire; with this half he eats meat. He roasts a roast, and is satisfied. He also warms himself and says, “Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire.”

17And the rest of it he makes into a mighty  one, his carved image. He falls down before it and worships, prays to it and says, “Deliver me, for you are my mighty one.”

Man uses a tree to warm himself in winter, to cook his food and then the rest of the tree he uses to worship. Sounds so ridiculous, but take a moment to think about what man are doing today. People are so lost today, walking after worldly entertainment and believing everything the government tells them.

18They do not know nor understand, for He has smeared their eyes from seeing, and their hearts from understanding.

Why could those people in those times and people in our time not see (understand) that these worldly things are just lifeless and will not do anything for them. It is because their eyes and ears are closed to seeing and hearing the truth.

19 And no one recalls it to his heart, nor is there knowledge nor understanding to say, “I have burned half of it in the fire, and I have also baked bread on its coals; I have roasted meat and eaten it. And shall I make the rest of it an abomination?  Should I fall down before a log of wood?”

Could they not realize it is just a piece of wood?  It was abomination to Yahuah in those times and it's still abomination today. Today people are lining up to take an injection that is made by man. Fear has led them to believe and trust man will save them. Many so-called believers trust this man-made jab to save and heal them. It is no different from the wood they believed will save and heal them in ancient of times.

20Feeding on ashes, a deceived heart turns him aside, and he does not deliver his being, nor says, “Is there not a lie in my right hand?”

The hearts of people are deceived and cannot see the lie! They are blinded by the false teaching and false leaders of this world. It is because we have turned away from the true living Yahuah, who created all and who can save all.

We need to wake-up and turn back to the living Creator who can heal and save! He is a live, will answer your pray and still is in full control of His creation.
