Workers of truth

 

 

 

John speaks of people who were witnessing of the truth, as they were walking in the truth.

3 John 1:3 For I rejoiced greatly when brothers came and witnessed of the truth in you, as you walk in the truth.

He says further in 3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear of my children walking in truth.

It was great for John to see people walking in truth.

What was this truth they were walking in.

 

John 4:23-24 “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father also does seek such to worship Him. “Elohim is Spirit, and those who worship Him need to worship in spirit and truth.”

Father is Spirit and to be able to worship Him you need the Spirit – To receive truth, does a believer need the Spirit. But first we need to know what is this truth?

 

John 5:33-34 “You have sent to John, and he bore witness to the truth. But I do not receive witness from man.

What truth did John bore witness? Pilate asked Messiah what is truth?

John 18:37-38 Then Pilate said to Him, “You are a sovereign, then?” Yahusha answered, “You say it, because I am a sovereign. For this I was born, and for this I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth.  Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” Pilate said to Him, “What is truth.

John 8:31-32 So Yahusha said to those Yehudim who believed Him, “If you stay in My Word, you are truly My taught ones, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Messiah said to them, if you stay in the Word, you will know the truth and this truth shall set you free. We know that the Word will also give truth.

John 14:6-7 Yahusha said to him, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father too. From now on you know Him, and have seen.”

John 14:16-17 “And I shall ask (petition) the Father, and He shall give you another Helper (Comforter/intercessor), to stay with you forever – the Spirit of the Truth, whom the world is unable to receive, because it does not see Him or know Him. But you know Him, for He stays with you and shall be in you.

Is the Comforter the Spirit of truth. The next verse confirms.

 

John 15;26 “And when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of the Truth, who comes from the Father, He shall bear witness of Me.

The Spirit of truth is given by the Father.

John 16;13 “But when He comes, the Spirit of the Truth, He shall guide you into all the truth. For He shall not speak from Himself, but whatever He hears He shall speak, and He shall announce to you what is to come.

The Spirit is of the truth and we will worship the Father in Spirit and truth = Spirit and truth go together, cannot have the one and not the other.

The Spirit of truth will announce to the believer what is to come.

John 17:17-19 “Set them apart in Your truth – Your Word is truth. “As You sent Me into the world, I also sent them into the world. “And for them I set Myself apart, so that they too might be set apart in truth.

Messiah confirms the Father’s Word is truth. How does the Word, the Spirit and the truth fit together?

Yahusha is the embodiment of the Word, and of the Truth, and the Word is the truth. Messiah bears witness to the Truth, to the Word of His Father. Elohim sets us apart if we follow the Word, the Truth, and do it! This is all through the Spirit.

 

2 Timothy 2:15 Do your utmost to present yourself approved to Elohim, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly handling the Word of Truth.

James 1:18 Having purposed it, He brought us forth by the Word of truth, for us to be a kind of first-fruits of His creatures.

Both James and Timothy speak of the Word of truth. Messiah also says His Word is truth. The Father’s Word given to Messiah and now to the believers is truth.

The Father gives His Spirit (Ruach) to us and the Spirit is truth = The Word, the Spirit is truth. The Word/Spirit is Father and He lives in you.

 

1 John 5:6 This is the One that came by water and blood: Yahusha Messiah, not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is the Truth.

Father gave His Spirit to the son = Messiah with the Spirit in Him bears witness or we can say the Messiah with the Father in Him bears witness.

Today the Spirit in you is the Father but when Messiah walked on the earth, He had the Spirit (Father) to bear witness to the people. He then said when he leaves the earth, the helper (the Spirit/Ruach/Father) will come in His place to witness the truth.

Let’s dig deeper to find out more about the truth.

Psalm 25:4-5 Show me Your ways, O Yahuah; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the Elohim of my deliverance; On You I wait all the day.

David asks Yahuah to lead him in truth and to teach him. How will Yahuah teach David His truth. It’s by means of the Spirit?

 

Psalm 26:3 For Your kindness is before my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth.

David is walking in truth, just like John said people are walking in truth in 3 John.

Psalm 86:11 Teach me Your way, O Yahuah; Let me walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your Name.

Walk in truth. How did David walk in truth?

 

 

Psalm 119:142 Your righteousness is righteousness forever, and Your Torah (Law/commands) is truth.

It is confirmed by David, the law/commands are the truth.

When Yahuah spoke the 10 commands at Mt Sinai, they were His Word (breath of Words), therefore Torah or commands or instructions are the Word. Is the Word not the breath of Yahuah = Spirit (Ruach)? The Word is truth = the Word/Spirit of truth.

Torah/commands/Word = truth.

Romans 2:20 an instructor of foolish ones, a teacher of babes, having the form of knowledge and of the truth in the Torah (law).

The truth is in the Word.

 

Psalm 119:150-151 Those who pursue mischief have drawn near; They have been far from Your Torah. You are near, O Yahuah, and all Your commands are truth.

Yahuah’s commands are truth.

Psalm 147:19 Declaring His Word to Jacob, His laws and His right-rulings to Yisra’el.

James and Timothy spoke about the Word of truth and Father declared His Word to Jacob. The Spirit of truth = Yahuah of truth.

 

Nehemiah 9;13 “And You came down on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from the heavens, and gave them straight right-rulings and Torah of truth, good laws and commands.

Very clear the Torah (commands and laws) are the Word and is the truth.

Malachi 2:6 “The Torah of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and straightness, and turned many away from crookedness.

So, we know the Father is Spirit, the Word or Torah is given from the Father through His Spirit which is the truth.

True believers worship the Almighty through Spirit and Truth. The scripture says we should worship in Spirit and truth.

 

 

 

 

This is how I understand: Messiah received the Spirit when on earth so He could witness the truth to the people, When Messiah left the earth, the Spirit would be given to the true believer. With the Spirit in you the Word of truth or the Torah of truth will be given and you will walk in truth.

Now the warning. John speaks of two spirits.

1 John 4:6 We are of Elohim – the one knowing Elohim hears us. He who is not of Elohim does not hear us. By this we know the Spirit of the Truth and the spirit of the delusion.

Those who have the Spirit of truth will hear and do, but those who have the spirit of delusion shall not hear and do.

We also read through scripture of people having a wicked spirit, a spirit of delusion.

Hebrews 10:26-27 For if we sin purposely after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a slaughter offering for sins, but some fearsome anticipation of judgment, and a fierce fire which is about to consume the opponents.

 

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of Elohim is revealed from heaven against all wickedness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.

As we know truth is the Word/Torah, we now understand how the truth is suppressed today.

Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of Elohim into the falsehood, and worshipped and served what was created rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever.

Who has changed the Word/Torah of truth? Religion today – has changed the truth.

 

Romans 2;8 but wrath and displeasure to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness;

Paul is speaking of those that are not obeying something that is truth. We know what is the truth that should be obeyed.
