How do we know when a prophet is true or
when a prophet is false?
A prophet is a spokesman for Yahuah (Heavenly
Father) and in times past "prophets" were often regarded as
possessing a super-natural gift.
Scripture defines Father's TRUE prophets as
defined in Deuteronomy
13:1-4 & Deuteronomy 18:18-20, the prophet shall have Father's Words
in his mouth and he shall speak to them all that I command him.
Father's prophets were persecuted and many
of them were killed - Acts
7:52.
Moses speaks about the Messiah that Yahuah will send - read Acts 7:37-38, “This is
the Moses who said to the children of Israel, ‘Yahuah your Elohim shall raise
up for you a Prophet like me from your brothers. Him you shall hear.’ “This is
he who was in the assembly in the wilderness with the Messenger who spoke to
him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, who
received the living Words (the 10 Words/Commands) to give to us,....
Messiah said that false prophets were well spoken of: Luke 6:26, “Woe to you
when all men speak well
of you, for thus their fathers did to the false prophets.
He reveals to us that the false prophets are those who work
lawlessness which is very important for us to understand. Matthew 7:15-20, “But
beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly
they are savage wolves. “By their fruits you shall know them. Are grapes
gathered from thornbushes or figs from thistles? “So every good tree yields
good fruit, but a rotten tree yields wicked fruit. “A good tree is unable to
yield wicked fruit, and a rotten tree to yield good fruit. “Every tree that
does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. “So then, by
their fruits you shall know them –
Yahusha Messiah (Jesus) says in verse 22-23, "Many
shall say to Me, Master, Master, have we not prophesied in Your Name, and cast
out demons in Your Name and done many other miracles in Your Name? "And
then I (Messiah) shall declare to them, 'I never knew you, depart from Me, you
who work lawlessness!'
These words of Messiah should be a wake up
call to anyone that is prophesying (preaching) falsely.
A TRUE Prophet will only talk what is
written in scripture, a false prophet will make up his own ideas with a little
bit of truth and a person that does not know the scriptures would easily be
deceived by him.
A false prophet knows the Word of by heart
but his actions and life style will be of the wicked one.
Ezekiel 13:1-3, 6, 8-10: “And the word of
Yahuah came to me saying, `Son of man…say to those who prophesy out of their
own heart, “Hear the word of Yahuah!” Thus says the Master Yahuah, `Woe to the
foolish prophets, who are following their own spirit, without having a vision!
…Their visions are false and their divinations a lie, saying, “Thus declares
Yahuah."
The nature/character of Yahuah’s Prophets
must align to the nature, ways, and thinking of Yahuah!
The true Prophet guards the Torah from his
heart! In order for the true Prophet to
hear from Yahuah and deliver His message without one word being altered, the
true Prophet must be dead to all self-will, self-seeking, and selfish desires.
Yahusha Messiah warned that an increase in
false prophets was a sure sign of the “end of the age.”
Matthew 24:3-5, 24-25: And Yahusha Messiah
answering said to them, `Take heed that no one leads you astray. For many shall
come in My Name saying “I am,” and they shall lead many astray.’… `For false
prophets and false messiahs shall arise and they shall show great signs and
wonders…….. Messiah says in verse
25, “See, I have forewarned you.
False prophets are in the business for
profit--for big money, fame, and control over the minds of people.
They are popular people.
They tell people what is soothing, nice,
and encouraging, but almost never tell the people to repent, to prepare, and to
get ready because judgment is coming.
The false prophet “sells the truth” for
merchandise, which the Word says not to do!
Beware of those who sell their teachings or
prophecies for money! (Proverbs
23:23) Beware of those who charge you money for coming to their
meetings, seminars, or conventions!
Matthew 7:15-16, “Beware of the false prophets
who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. By their
fruits you shall know them…”
Remember! Be not deceived!
